I am under the impression tha they are not in his DB either. What I do is I switch to the default at some point. For me I do it for the 2000 season and add any missing players myself or delete any dupes.

The Spritze db has the 2012 players, the Gambo/Spritze may not. Gambo controls that one. (as well as his Nicknameage). Spritze has nicknames.

Despite using these things for years, for some reason my mind can't wrap itself around this year's databases. What I am downloading? Where am I putting it? Why am I using one instead of the other? Where do I even find both? What is the best way to set it for random debuts? Regular debuts? Who has Negro Leaguers and who has Japanese players? What is going on and why am I losing my mind?!

I agree. The Spritze database =
Generate at 18: Players will appear at the start of the season in which they turned 18 or when they turned pro if earlier, and will be signable as free agents whenever they reach the league's minimum age. This is the free-for-all setting, and the closest thing to the way the pre-draft MLB worked.

Spritze Do you know why in Gambo's DB all the PCL nd Negro League players suck? No PCL pitcher throws anything other then a fastball. No hitter can play defense. Includes a few Negro league players also. i am in 1909.

None of that stuff should be touched in my version of the db. The only things I changed from the copy of the master file I got from spritze is the debut year. (And possibly the nicknames; sometimes I keep them so sometimes I don't)

There have been 10 or so updates to the Spritze db since Gambo last updated his. The hitter-defense thing I vaguely disremember from some old version of the Spritze db. The latest update of the Spritze will be available in about a week.

I got to the point I can't keep up with ^that guy^ so I stopped worrying about it.

Also the changes is the game made it too time consuming to keep at.

So in reality I myself consider my database defunct at this time for OOTP14.

Well I prefer your DB since it has real debut and I am playing a historical league. I use Spritze for random Debut. Why are all the PCL players so bad? Do i have something not setup right? I stopped using neutralized stats and am using real stats now. I am more concerned when the Negro League Stars start coming in namely Paige & Gibson. With Spritze dB they both start slow but are doing great in my ABF. Paige 1 time POTY 5 time All star. Gibson finally hit 40 HR in his 8th season. Average has always been low.

You need to use neutralized stats with my database. Simply because the Negro Leaguers, PCL Players, etc have no real stats. That's why they are bad.

Ok i was under the impression that neutralized stats should be turned off. Maybe that was Spritze and not yours. Do you know how I turn neutralized on in an existing game?

Using neutralized stats doesnt seem to have changed anything. I ran a OSA rescout and scouted this player also. Not a single pitcher on the FA list throws 2 pitches and all throw only a fastball.

Under Advanced Options you can select a databse under Source ?something? The 3 tabs to teh far left above league name and league year. Select the master.cvs

When you create a new game. go to Advanced options under Historical - database path copy & paste the folder line into the database path line using ctrl-c to copy and ctrl-v to paste.
It should look something like this.
C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\OOTP 11 DL\databases\Spritze 14\GamboSpritzeOOTP14v2
you can do the above for a existing game also.

In the Spritze/Gambo db, what is meant by the designation of "Cup of Coffee?" in the College field? Based upon some spot-checking, nothing jumps out as unusual for these guys... Thanks

Coffee Cuppers are players whose entire career did not reach the lower limits of the formulas used to neuter player stats. Artificial Stats were added to their real stats to bring them up to the minimum. 40ip/200ab as I disremember.

The college field is used to house a number of this type of designations as it is not used by the game currently.
