And you are a rookie, so you are doing excellent. Just as I had hoped you would do. Now lets hope you develop well this season and come back next ready to kick some arse.

BTW, stop posting where it counts. The stupid OT board doesn't give me post counts.

Sim #5
===========================================

If we weren't sure whether or not the Felons were going to make the playoffs, we are now after this sim. The Felons lost just twice in 14 games and are now 21 games over the second place Storm.

However the rest of the league still keeps its competitiveness. Just 4 games seperate the second to fourth place team. The Juves have fallen behind now while the Beavers have completely dug themself a hole. They are now a whopping 11 games out of the last playoff spot and are 7 games from their expansion rival, the Invaders. The Invaders are actually playing extremely well, former Felon, starting catcher, phantomjedi is playing great batting .316 with 2 HR and 30 RBI's. Veteran Closer, trident is doing his job, saving 11 games out of a possible 13 (84.6%) while maintaining a 2.08 ERA.

The Blazers are catching up to the storm, they are now just 1 game away from taking over the last playoff spot. They have been playing extremely well considering their best player, RemDawg has been out for the rest of the season. The entire team has pinched in, players such as StLouisPride, messenjah, connor180 etc have been playing way over expectation. I will not be surprised if this team returns to the championships again this season.

The Storm have not been playing horribly, but metskid's 3-man rotation seems to be wearing out the pitching staff and it's showing through the 7 losses this past sim for the Storm. The Big 4 have been in a small slump, in fact, not even one player bats over .300 on this lineup. They will need some pitching if they have any intention of making the playoffs this year.

Congratulations to this month's players of the month:

Quote:
GFBL-Pitcher of the Month:
C Cooleyvol (FEL)!
He had a record of 5-0 in 7 games started, with an ERA of 0.17 and 2 shutouts.
GFBL-Batter of the Month:
S Slant (JUV)!
He batted .327 in 104 AB, with 7 homers and 24 RBI.

Things have just gotten interesting, the Felons being still 20+ games over the second place Storm have just received shocking news that super star SS Sportkrazy will be out for the rest of the 2005 season due to a torn calf muscle. The short stop just recently signed a contract extention for over $15,000,000. In 3 seasons, sportkrazy has cumulated 89 HR, 320 RBI's while maintaining a .349 career batting average. The bad news doesn't just stop there, star closer maninthebox is also out day-to-day with a strained tricep muscle. He will still be able to play however the injury would bother him for up to 7 weeks. The closer has closed out 26 games this season with an outstanding 0.95 era. The team would definitely miss these 2 players, and this mght just be the spark that will make the playoffs more interesting...

The Storm is still hanging on by a thread for the last playoff spot while the Blazers are still playing considerably well without RemDawg behind the plate. In my opinion, both SP Agent1 and kllutz are the biggest factors in the Blazers' recent success. They combine for a 13-13 record with a below 3 ERA. The 1-2 punch would have to continue their good play if the Blazers want anything more than a playoff spot. The Blazers will have a really good chance to pass the Storm and grab the sole possession in second place with Storm's ace, TimJohnson injured for 2 weeks.

The Invaders are now all of a sudden in the mix of the playoff race. They are now just 3 games behind the Blazers and 4 behind the second place Storm. No one had thought this team even had a chance to come close, however they are certainly proving everyone wrong now. With the recent addition of OrlandoMagic, this team now has one of the best young pitching rotation in the league. However in order for this team to go any further, they must add some big bats in the lineups. So far this season, not even 1 player on this team bats over .300.

The Juves are playing a bit better now with the recent addition of Slant and wanderer. Both now gives the Juves more of a power presence in the lineups, however this team will need some serious upgrades in pitching if they have any hope for a run at the playoffs this season. The Beavers round off the standings with a miserable 28-52 record. This team will now presumably be playing for pride now rest of the way.

<center>Sim Highlights:
===========================================

6/24/2005, Storm's NealMusser hits a double into the gap that brought in the winning runs as the Beavers fall in 17 innings 8-6.

6/22/2005, Juves' IWearRedSox pitches a complete game shutout striking out 10 batters as the team beats the Invaders 6-0.

6/18/2005, Invaders' 1B candac hits a GRAND SLAM in the top of the 9th as they went on and killed their expansion cousin, the Beavers, 7-0. Invaders' rookie pitcher, Orlandomagic went 8 innings striking out 6 earning him the win.

6/21/2005, Storm's 2B SirOrion turns 2 against the Beavers as the Storm out scores the Beavers, 10-7. SirOrion also went 1-3 and scored 2 runs in the winning cause.

The Beavers cant get any breaks. We always lose the extra inning games (1-6) and are always in 1 run games (10-14).

===========================================

Just under 100 games into the season, the "unbeatable" Felons seem to finally slow down a bit now that their star pplayer, Sportkrazy is out for the rest of the year. They lost 6 times this last sim and is unable to expand their lead over the second place team for the first time this season.

The Storm is now 2 games behind the Jailblazers for the last playoff spot. GM, metskid will certainly be heavily criticized if the team fails to make the playoffs once again for the second season in a row. The starting rotation seems to be wearing out now being a 3-man staff for the majority of the season. In my opinion, this is not the way to go at all if the storm wants to go anywhere this season. Each of the starters have already started over 20 games each and the league is just over the 90-game mark.

The Blazers on the other hand are playing extremmely well. I don't really want to give them too much credit though as they are "expected" to do well being last season's runner up and all. The team is playing solid both defensively and offensively. As it looks now, this GFBL final will feature a rematch between the Felons and Blazers once again.

Still, the Invaders cannot be counted out just yet. With an extremely young team, especially in the pen, the team is performing well over-expectations. Only one pitcher in this staff has an over 4.50 ERA. With this being said, the batting is not as impressive. Even though there is a nice balance of experience in the lineups, not too many runs are being created, in fact, the invaders are the worst in the league in runs scored. If the invaders have any hope to make the playoffs this season they will have to make a deal or 2 before the trading deadline comes Jan 25 2004 . I suspect the Invaders to deal away a few of their youngsters away namely AndyHartly, ObscureSanctity and Jay12. And possibly some dealing with their expansion cousin, the Beavers in the enar future. Veterans on the Beavers such as Gummies, UziThundowski and clett are some likely candidates.

The Beavers and Juves have both made a good run this season especially the Juves. The Juves were very surprising at the begining of the season being on the top half of the standings for most of the first few sims. Their pitching staff may have not been playing as good as they should have been, and a few of their main players have been rather dissapointing such as metskid and Jermanfu. However there are some positives this season, 3B MVPplayer is finally starting to play like a starter, recently acquired Wanderer, Slant and Spirus are playing as good as they come. Long time Juvie, Quasher, is finally getting the paying time he deserves and is putting up some impressive numbers including beign 2nd on the team in RBI's. The Beavers have made a nice run in respect that this is their inagual season. However, the Beavers might still have played worse than they expected. With a good bunch of veteran pitchers in the pen, the team barely manages a 5th place team ERA. And the batting is just horrible. Still, there can be some positives ahead for this team next season if rookies such as AaronDunn, MichaelFinney and Nildo developes as planned. I would say watch both the Juves and the Beavers to make some kind of move near deadline day.

Trading Deadline will be midnight on Jan 24 2004

Congrats go out to our June Players of the Month:

Quote:
Saturday 7/1/2005 :

GFBL-Pitcher of the Month:
Orlando Magic1987 (INV)!
He had a record of 5-1 in 7 games started, with an ERA of 1.52 and 1 shutouts.

GFBL-Batter of the Month:
s scoobz (FEL)!
He batted .365 in 96 AB, with 6 homers and 19 RBI.

<center>Sim Highlights:
===========================================

7/7/2005, AndyHartley of teh Beavers waits for the pitch as he bats in the game winning run in the bottom of the 10th. The Beavers won the game against their expansion rival, the Invaders, 2-1.

7/5/2005, Felons' Franchiseplayer2k4 slides into 3rd during the 8th inning as they cruise past the Blazers 9-3. FP2k4 went 3-4 with 2 RBI's in that game.
