Actually, got an error on the e-mail, saying it couldn't be delivered because it was too large.
I've uploaded the file to our website for you to download directly, if you wouldn't mind. - Kai

Ok, I found the problem right away. It was coming across this bit of history in a players log.
Traded from Port Royal to 133770\/\/|\| on 7/11/2008 (Going to 137: SS Tony Romano, P Gary Barcia. Going to PR: 3B Antonio Nieves). The \ in the 'team' name was throwing my parsing of the date off. So, I added a line to strip the \/\/|\| out before it parsed and it ran all the way through with no interruptions. Make sure you run AUHistory2 on the new league when done. Use the REMOVE DUPLICATE function, as it will also fix any bad dates that were imported. And make sure you run BULK CHANGES at the end of the year (or anytime during the season, dupes are not added), to add walk off homeruns and player hitting/rbi/etc. streaks.

Ha! I love it. I absolutely hated that team name, and we gave the guy who came up with it no end of good-natured misery. He's since left the league, but he's gonna get more now, anyway.
Thanks a ton for the correction, Comedian. Much obliged. And I already have AUHistory2 installed for just such uses. OOTP2006 wouldn't be the same without you. - Kai

Hmm. I hate to be a pest, but now that I'm home and tried it again (the program very nicely updates itself ), it still isn't working.
Having been given an idea what was causing the problem from your previous post, I had a batch editor go through every file in the league_news_box\players folder and replace every instance of "133770\/\/|\|" with "Leettown", and it still didn't work. I was able to deduce, as well, that the first error it throws up every time I try is in the very first file. In p1.txt, it's complaining that 6/27/2013 is an invalid date. This is the entirety of that file: Code:
Drafted in 3rd round, 58th overall pick, by Boston in 2012... Injured on 9/6/2012 with a Pinched Nerve Neck, out for 6 days... Injured on 6/27/2013 with a Inflamed Hip Muscle, out for 6 days... Injured on 9/4/2013 with a Bruised Finger, out for 4 days... Injured on 5/5/2014 with a Inflamed Groin Muscle, out for one week... Had first career hit (double) on 7/29/2015, off Dave Monte (DUR)... Hit first career homerun on 9/27/2015, off David Koski (ATH)... I have to think I'm doing something obvious wrong, since you said it worked flawlessly for you yesterday, but I'm at a loss as to what it is. Any other ideas for me? Pretty please? - Kai

Very odd. I just ran it again and it went through the entire league with no bad date popups. I even trapped it on user one and stepped through it and it converted it fine. He is ID 447 in the new version:
20120518 Drafted in 3rd round, 58th overall pick, by Boston in 2012. 20120906 Injured on 9/6/2012 with a Pinched Nerve Neck, out for 6 days. 20130627 Injured on 6/27/2013 with a Inflamed Hip Muscle, out for 6 days. 20130904 Injured on 9/4/2013 with a Bruised Finger, out for 4 days. 20140505 Injured on 5/5/2014 with a Inflamed Groin Muscle, out for one week. 20150729 Had first career hit (double) on 7/29/2015, off Dave Monte (DUR). 20150927 Hit first career homerun on 9/27/2015, off David Koski (ATH). www.planetootp.com/players.zip is where you can download the converted player history. C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\data\saved_games\History.lg\news\txt\players Change to your league. NOTE: I did not run the duplicate checker on it.

Well, I spent a month in Toronto during the winter, so I won't be there. But, if you are ever in Orlando, look me up and buy me lunch.
I know it sure is nice to have that old history back. Does it look like yours converted over pretty well?

I've been quite busy this Fall so I haven't been able to do much with OOTP2006... so I just stumbled on this one! This is awesome! Exactly what I was looking for!! Many many thanks!

How long is it supposed to take, generally, to update player histories wirh history 6.x? It starts out quick but then quickly starts to slow to the point that when I finally decided to exit the program, a players name had been showing for 2 1/2 hours.
Also, I don't see their histories on the screen as the program runs. All I have is a small bar showing their name. |

That means it hung up. Check out that players name or the players name before him, find out their number and look at thier history file and see if there is problems in it.
If not, get me the 6.5 league and a CSV dump from the converted league and I will convert it for you.

It was working for a while, longer than before anyway, but when looking at the text files, every player had the exact same history.

I feel like I read somewhere that it does....but does this fine program work when going from 6.5 to 2007? or is it a 2006 only program?

The current version works from 6.x to 2007. I just modified it to work with 2007, so currently there is no version that works for 2006. However, if there is a request, I can create one quickly.
Follow the instructions carefully and it should work fine, but since the history of your 6.x league can have some funky data in the history files, it could have problems, but I can easily solve the issues. So far I have a perfect record in converting the history in the ones that bombed out. MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP the OOTP2007 player history folder before running it

If this is happening
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=147626 is it going to screw up the imported histories? I haven't had a chance to try Steve Kuffrey's suggestion or use this program yet but I should soon and wanted to figure out if it even mattered. Thanks!

Before you use my program to import the player's history, back up the 2007 history. (That is if you have played any games AFTER your imported from 6.x). If not, the history folder will be empty. If it is empty then no need to backup. This is the ONLY folder that is written to by my history6x program.
As far as the lines with history that are incorrect. About the only solution is to use my newest program to edit the history. You can bulk search for phrases and even remove lines. (Like remove all lines with a certain phrase in it)

Program worked like a charm. To solve my problem I am getting quite used to using the "EDIT HISTORY" option.
