Eugene, what do you think of the potential uniforms for the Fighters, the Artists, and the Bards, at least? Just wondering, that's all. CD out.

Your taste is much different from mine. But I will say you are improving. On the Fighters, I think the pinstripes are overdone... I like Home Jerseys to be White... and Away Jerseys Gray... occasionally, I will use pinstripes, but not often. The Bards and Artists are OK... but I don't think anyone would use them... I think most people want traditional styles and colors for their teams and leagues. I strive for a variation in my league uniform styles... and I try to have variations in colors... I don't do pink or pastel colors... or that terrible camouflage... none of my uniforms are extreme. Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-03-2019 at 09:36 PM. |

Well, in the case of the teams from Slaabovia with certain names as of 1882, there are legitimate and logical reasons for those cities to have teams using those nicknames. I'm sure I mentioned those reasons, at least in part, in my Slaabovian Baseball Chronicles thread, if not elsewhere as well, Eugene. And there are good reasons for them to have the team nicknames they will have/have in 1901 and following seasons, as well.
I'll keep working on the uniforms, at least, for various teams, you know, where and when possible and all, Lord willing. As for what some would consider traditional, that can vary from one person to another, as well, for any place or team name, right? Personally, I normally prefer lighter-colored home sets and darker away/road sets, whether or not they're whites or grays, just as you do. But sometimes whites and grays don't necessarily work for certain teams or places, to be sure. Thanks for your input and all, I'll try to keep it in mind. Hope to hear more from you soon. Now let's see if I can pick up where I left off earlier with updating other posts in this thread, because I had to go back in time about a year when something weird happened in the applicable dynasty. Once I'm caught up again, we'll proceed here as the need arises, et cetera, I'm sure, when and where possible, and all. CD out.

I'm currently having a rather persistent problem with there overage players in my college-level leagues, at least to a degree. Can anyone perhaps help me figure out how to make sure that those teams do not retain overage players? I have age limits in the SIAU of 17 to 23, and 17 to 22 in all my NACSA-affiliated leagues. And teams are signing overage players when they shouldn't be, too. If you don't know how I might be able to make sure that they don't do that, would you please ask around? Thanks. CD out.

This sort of thing with overage players being constantly signed by college-level teams when they shouldn't be is getting rather frustrating now for me. I KNOW that these kinds of things SHOULD NOT be happening, after I've set the necessary age limits and all. Can anyone please help me out here? Just wondering, that's all. CD out.

I"m sick and tired already of having to frequently mass-release players that are overage from multiple college teams, and seeing them signed by other teams at that level of the game almost immediately thereafter, constantly.
I really don't know what else to try next, short of potentially deleting the affected leagues, or retiring the players in question. They should be entering the MLB or SBC draft pools instead of being constantly signed by teams that shouldn't be able to sign them in the first place, or staying in the free agent pools until signed by teams in MLB, the SBC, the NABA, the SCL, or the EDA. I wonder if I will have to create at least a few more leagues to keep this from constantly happening here with certain college-level teams. I have financials turned off for all relevant college-level leagues, but the problem is still persisting, and becoming more of a major nuisance as the in-game weeks an months pass since the end of the NACSA-related postseason, at least, if not also the SIAU-related one. Perhaps at least one, if not more than one, new senior league or something, for those over a certain age, and for the rest, between 23 and 35 or so, I'm not sure yet. Looks like I'll have to expand my world earlier than expected here, and to at least some degree, if not to a good degree, after all. That's if there's nothing else that I can perhaps try to deal with this growing problem here, that is, of course. I don't necessarily like it, but if that's what I have to do, then so be it. CD out.

Sorry, CD.... I play a simple game and don't have problems like this.
Sorry, can't help you with your problems. Hopefully, someone who reads this thread will respond with a solution, which is not likely. Sadly, it looks like I am the only one that posts here. I don't get any posts on my IPA and NIRL dynasties, either. There is little interaction in most Dynasty Leagues. |

Do you think someone might be willing and able to give me useful advice on slanting text on sash-like graphics, like for the potential Poets' home uniform or not, for example, Eugene, when I have the basic uniform details already in place? Do you think they'd be interested in seeing what I have for the Poets so far or not? Just wondering, that's all. CD out.

It is a long shot, but maybe someone with graphics skill will post here in this thread and give you some advice on slanted lettering... that's the best you can hope for. I think you are a very bright person... the fact that you slanted letters say something... I use justafan and have no idea of how to slant letters. Try to get free graphics software and learn how to use it... I have read that many people recommend Gimp... you might give it a try... then you can create your own logos, jerseys and caps. Providence also recently replaced several people for themselves on July 18th. The scouting director was canned, as were the pitching, hitting, and bench coaches, and replaced immediately with other people. July went terrible for the Grays, for they went 1-17, unfortunately.
Folliston, for their part, went 3-25 in July, firing their Assistant GM, their hitting coach, and their pitching coach on July 16th. The bench coach was fired on July 18th, and replaced the same day, and the new Assistant GM, the new hitting coach, and the new pitching coach also signed with the Scholars on July 18th. Washington came up short of being able to successfully defend their league title in the NABA, being unable to catch the Augusta Colonials, who won the league by five games over the Generals with a record of 70-42. But they should still be a potential threat in the near future, perhaps. This is the Colonials' first league title. Kentucky and Boston tied for third at 58-54, seven games back of Washington's record at 65-47. Birmingham finished in fifth with a record of 52-60, a game ahead of the Nashville Blue Sox and Brooklyn Robins at 51-61. Charleston finished in the cellar with a record of 43-69. The Miners of Charleston not only fired their GM, they also were sold to a new owner. And this year makes it the sixth straight year that they've been under .500 for the year, as well. The Generals have several players on the wrong side of 30, and there may not be suitable enough replacements stockpiled yet on the reserve roster, at least for some positions. They may still contend for a while, but unless they see some substantial development or can sign players of decent enough quality, for instance, their window for success could close very soon, like in the next five or so years, I think. The SCL and SBC are about to finish their regular seasons. When they do, I will update the relevant posts earlier in the thread, of course. The EDA will not be far behind either of those leagues, in terms of completing their own regular season. And then once those three leagues are all done with their regular seasons and/or postseasons, it'll just leave the MLB the only league still playing games for the 1882 regular season, at least. Folliston will finish in last place for the GSA yet again. The GSA winner is the Lumberjacks of Tran City yet again, as well. Their opponent in the SRS will be the Archeologists, for the third time overall, and the second time in a row, this time around. Tran City will be the four-time defending GSA winner going into the 1883 season, and Sarahnapool will enter the 1883 season having won five of the last six NUA pennants. This will be their fifth time participating in the Slaabovian Republic Showdown, but of their previous four trips to it, they've only earned one SBC title. Benclimil has also won five NUA pennants to date, but have not yet won an SBC title for themselves. Tracyton's Artists have won the most SBC titles to date, with four titles in four trips to the SRS. Tran City is in second place, overall, with two titles, and they will be hoping to win the SRS for the third time in franchise history. Teams with SBC titles/postseasons so far are the Tracyton Artists (4/4), Tran City Lumberjacks (2/3), Willson (1/1), Sarahnapool Archeologists (1/4), Olsonton Explorers (1/1), Rocíoton Black Guards (1/2), and Folliston Scholars (1/). Still without SBC titles are the Benclimil Thoroughbreds (Five NUA pennants), Amjasi Farmers (0/1 NUA pennant), Sara City Inventors (0/0 NUA pennants), Shmala Zoologists (0/0 NUA pennants), and Slaabojevo Warriors (0,0 GSA pennants). More information later, as the need and mood and all arises, then, folks, of course. CD out.

By the way, of course I'm glad to see my Cardinals are moving onto the next round of the playoffs. I'd not mind seeing the Cards face the Yankees, in truth, but I could accept the Rays and Cards as a potential matchup. I still believe that the Astros are in the wrong league now, and same thing for the Brewers, ever since things ultimately got all messed up with the leagues and divisions while Selig was still in charge as Commissioner or Acting Commissioner.
You certainly can't go wrong with a possible matchup between the Cards and Yankees. But it would also not be uninteresting to see the Yankees facing the franchise formerly known as the Expos and now as the Nationals, I think. Unfortunately, unless the Brewers and Astros are each switched back to their proper leagues, we'll never be able to see a World Series rematch between the Cards and the Brewers. With them each other playing so often now, it's definitely not the same as it was back in 1982. I remember at least some of the 1982 World Series, but probably wasn't able to watch all the games at that time, for various reasons. I do remember seeing the Cards win the World Series, however. While I was never able to see the games in person, I do remember seeing Sutter strike out Gorman Thomas to end game seven, and all. Such a shame that Porter and a number of other people from that season for both World Series teams are no longer with us, some because of potentially-preventable causes, of course. But such things often happen to a lot of people, famous or not, you know, folks. Just a few thoughts here, after seeing my Cardinals beat the Braves like they did tonight, although I couldn't actually watch it on TV, for various reasons. CD out.

Once the offseason begins for the Slaabovian Baseball Confederation, I will begin updating certain uniforms, at least, for certain teams in it. Logos and/or caps may still need to be created though, I think, somehow. It ought to be interesting to see what they might look like in-game, and hopefully they won't look too bad, once they're in it.
I think that at least one new Slaabovian independent league will be created after the first of the year. Plus possibly at least one minor league for one of the leagues already in the game, if not the third rung of my planned promotion-relegation ladder. That should hopefully alleviate the recent problems I've been having getting a couple of college-level teams up and running well enough here as desired and all. At least to a degree, if not totally, that is, of course. Or I may create a new league specifically meant only for players of a certain minimum age who are not likely to enter any league's Halls of Fame anytime soon, if at all. That might also help to keep the college-level teams from signing them, as well. Here are the schools currently in leagues that are part of the North American Collegiate Association, as of the end of the 1882 collegiate season schedules: Great Lakes Collegiate Alliance: Illnois Fighting Illini Indiana Hoosiers Michigan Wolverines Michigan State Spartans Ohio State Buckeyes Penn State Nittany Lions Purdue Boilermakers Wisconsin Badgers Heartland Athletic Conference: Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa State Cyclones Kansas Jayhawks Minnesota Golden Gophers Missouri Tigers Nebraska Cornhuskers North Dakota Fighting Sioux South Dakota State Jackrabbits Ivy League: Brown Bears Columbia Lions Cornell Big Red Dartmouth Big Green Harvard Crimson Penn Quakers Princeton Tigers Yale Bulldogs Southern Conference: Alabama Crimson Tide Georgia Bulldogs Kentucky Wildcats Louisiana State Tigers Mississippi Rebels North Carolina Tarheels Tennessee Volunteers Texas Longhorns Any suggestions for schools/conferences to perhaps add over time to the North American Collegiate Sports Association here, anyone? Any you are willing and able to provide here would be most appreciated, of course. Thanks for your time and attention, anyone who reads this thread here, then. Hope to see more comments from others in this thread later on, if possible, of course. By the way, to those of you who are good at making graphics, and who may be reading this thread, could you please let me know how I might be able to slant and center text properly on a diagonal line in any direction I might so choose or need it to slant in? I'd be most appreciative if someone could advise me here, at least, if not show me what to do, for sure. I posted a potential home uniform for the Poltragow Poets earlier in this thread, and I'm not totally satisfied with how it looks just yet, to be completely honest. CD out.

New caps for 1883 and/or future SBC seasons
New caps for the Scholars and Fighters. No logos made yet, but hopefully these will go well with the recently-made uniforms for them. CD out.

Just took a look at the new uniforms for the Artists and Warriors, at least for the home uniforms, and they may look great in-game. But we'll have to see, of course. Other uniforms will have to be checked out later, when made, if they're not already, but so far, the new Willson and Tracyton home uniforms, at least, seem to look good in-game. CD out.
P.S. Just took a look at the new caps for the Fighters in-game, and they look very nice as well, at least for the home set, I think. CD out.

Font used for Folliston Scholars is Old London. King Arthur Special for Willson Fighters. Innkeeper for Tracyton Artists.
As for Tran City's Lumberjacks, the home font is HBM Forista Woody, and the road font is Wooden Nickel, I believe. For Sarahnapool's Archeologists, they're going to be using the Morris Roman font, if memory serves. Horozaki Timekeepers will likely use a font called Primitive. Llandahachi Dreamers will probably use the Cardinal Alternate font. Also, the Ovonio Bards will most likely use Narnia BLL as their main fontface, et cetera, here after they're ultimately created in the game, if they ever are, somehow. As for Poltragow's Poets, their likely primary home font will be Poetsen One, and their likely primary road font will be King Richard, it seems. All of the fonts mentioned here may already be easily available or not, but not entirely sure about that. Various fontmakers periodicially put out new fonts on various sites, of course. I have RGB coordinates for several colors, but I haven't yet put them together well enough to satisfy me, in terms of potentially using them for various teams, whether real or fictional, well enough. I'll figure out which colors to use for various teams in time, I'm sure, if and when I'm given enough of a chance to do so well enough. Lord wlling, of course, that is. I'll try to come up with some suitable logos on my own, but I still don't draw most things very well, it seems to me. It may take a while, though, I think, for me to do so well enough, especially if nobody else is willing to help me here and all, you know. CD out.

Downloaded some more fonts, so we'll have to see what comes to mind for me next, of course. Should be interesting to see what comes to mind next for me in terms of uniforms and all, I think. CD out.
