Can you bring a historical minor league team to the majors?

Can team be transferred from the historical minor league it is in into your major league in a historical league world?

Is it still possible to tinker with the teams.csv file to, in this example, keep that reversion from happening?

Thanks all of you. I just thought it would be fun to bring the 1940s Oakland Oaks (a pretty close to MLB level team, and a good one) up to the majors to see how they did.

You might want to try creating a new major-league team and transferring all of the players from the minor-league club's roster to the new ML club. That way, the new team will have a new team ID, so the game will think it's not the same as the minor-league team. Not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try.

Is this because the option to use csv files has been taken away, and now gamers must use odb files?

Assuming you're Commissioner, the easiest thing might be to swap the Oaks with the last place team. Then you could just use the real schedules and find out the Oaks would do in the majors while the last place team is playing in the PCL.

If you used OOTP16 to setup a league, but didn't play any games, and brought the league in to OOTP17, would that use the team text files?
