Time of Arrival?

Right, Im not bitching or moaning, Im happy and my money has gone. I don't want to badger anyone, all I am asking is this. What time for me is the link to the BETA going up.

Im in England and we are ahead of states, I have to be up in the morning early, very early. So, with all the time differences, firstly I thought I would start my own post so I can see times on my terms and secondly so I know whether its worth me staying up to try and get the download started before I go to bed.

I don't want anyone telling me what time to go to bed incidently!

Well done guys,

Maybe a new countdown?

They said about 2-3 hours about 2.5 hours ago. Depending if they ran into any snags, I'd expect it any time now.

We are in the final testing stage. If nothing really bad is coming up now the version will be our release candidate so cross your fingers.

One final time I want to remind you that we have an initial beta version at our hands so always keep this in mind. It is a big milestone for us, now we can't hide anymore, from today we will do the rest of the way together and (hopefully) create a great game we can proudly release in September.

Hey Sebastian, since you are from Hamburg there isnt much time left for today, you know?

Whatever though, dont rush it in the last stage of it, if it is tomorrow, so be it. I have only seen some screenshots and read what you guys fed me, yet i am already loving it! Hope you guys get rewarded for all the hard work!

Any minute now.

While you are waiting, did you download archibalduk's great logo pack?

The Blue Line - FHM Logo Pack

Believe me, you want to use it.

Out of curiosity: how big will the final download be, roughly? Are we talking 500 MB, 1GB, 2GB or upwards of 4GB? I have not played any of the OOTP sims, so I don't have any idea at all.

Thanks! My index finger gets a bit tired of pressing F5 all the time, though...

Last time they said anything in regards to this I believe it was around 30-50mb. So not much to worry about(i assume it will grow with time)

No more then 500mb, if I remember from OOTP they are around 300/400mb. But Santa Sebastian is around now it seems he'll be able to confirm, or Jeff or one of the other guys

The setup file is just about 40 MB big. We have only one Skin and two Quickstarts to start with so over time the file will get bigger. BUT we will make updates available at a later time.

The full size OOTP downloads are usually about 250-280MB IIRC. As has been said, these beta releases will be smaller.

The crowd is getting restless. But I don't mind being patient, just means the guys are improving something and making it a little more playable. Thank you guys!
