I have come to prefer the current wild card setup to the previous division-winners-only setup. I find it more fun. I don't think it is the best, but I like it.

NFL is the one that needs less off days. Why can't they have something like a 80 game season by playing five days a week?

That's never going to happen, not with television money being as important as it is to the finances of MLB.

Since the wild card is here to stay, at least raise the Division Series to a best-of-seven contest. This could be done without extending the post-season schedule beyond the length it takes now.

Interestingly enough, the NFL has the shortest season of any of the big four North American team sports. The NHL has the longest, with regular season and post-season play together running a total of about 8½ months; the NBA is second, just a bit shorter than the NHL's; MLB is third with 7 months; the NFL is last with a season running just 5 months.

If the NFL played a regular season as long as MLB's, at one game per week that would work out to an NFL regular season 26 games long. If you left in a couple of bye weeks, the NFL could easily have a regular season 22 games long over a six-month regular season period.

(There already is some talk of the NFL dropping two of the four pre-season games in order to extend the regular season to 18 games.)

This is how the Divison's should look
East
Mets
Red Sox
Yankees
Blue Jays
Altantic
Baltimore
Washington and should be in that in the NBA and NHL
Pittsburgh
Phils
Southeast
Florida
Tampa Bay
Altanta
Midwest
Texas
Houston
Kansas City
Colorado
Northcentral
Twins
Brewers
Cubs
White Sox
California
San Diego
Giants
Oakland
Angels
Dodgers
Central
Tigers
Indians
Reds
West
Mariners
Arizona

I would also expand rosters to 30,Inter League Play all year round and DH and Pitcher in the same Lineup and also have Baseball Coast to Coast and more weekday games on ESPN or another Sports channel like FSN or even the MLB Channel. Also would have had the Astros/Cubs Series played at Wrigley Field.

What about putting a lefty and a righty up to bat at the same time - one on each side of the batters box and let them both swing at the pitch?

That wouldn't work. Only maybe in Fantasy Baseball or if you field a team and go play at a Ball Field in your city.

The problem with these best-of-5 series is that it's possible that the away team only gets to host one game before it's all over. At least in best-of-7 they're guaranteed of hosting two games.

I've stated my dislike for the wildcard in the past but I know there's no chance MLB will get rid of it. They love it too much. But it would be good if they made the DS best-of-7.
