Install Question for a PC
Ok...I haven't bought the past couple of versions of this game, but am trying it out again. This question will show how I am not very bright...but when I download the file for the PC version it doesn't download as a .exe file I can run. It downloads as ootp17setup.1458936290. My computer won't let me run the file to install it. Can somebody give me the directions (that I am sure I should already know) on how to install the file?
And I apologize in advance if there is a thread I couldn't find with these directions already. |

Strange it should be an exe. file. Did you download from the website or Steam? Is the file 800mb? I would try down loading again-

It should indeed be something like ootp17setup.exe - sounds like maybe you got an incomplete download or something. Try downloading again. The link is at the top of the forums under the logos "OOTP 17: Update #1 Available!"

Yes, it should be an .exc
One problem I have been getting is downloading using Chrome browser.... Fails at the verification stage of download. Perhaps try a different browser. (My was OK using Edge) |

Apparently some people are having trouble with using IE to download:

If it's what I think the problem is, which is Chrome not assigning the filename correctly, it might be possible to just manually change the extension to .exe and it will run fine.
But again that's just speculation. If the file itself is corrupted that won't work obviously. |

If all else fails, try Firefox.

Never had an issue with Chrome. When you download a bar appears on the bottom of the screen and has always showed an exe file.
You can also see it when hovering over the link.
