Top Prospect Lists

When I create a standard game, the player ratings for current MLB players seem to be pretty accurate relative to real life, but the top prospect rankings don't really correlate at all. For example, the top hitting prospect in baseball whenever I create a standard league is like the 6th ranked Phillies prospect in real life. Is it supposed to be like this? Or is there something that I'm missing?

Quick question, are you referring to your top prospects on your team screen or the list published annually with in the game? As for the list on your team screen, it is affected by your scout. Also, I believe its been mentioned in other posts they are working on the ratings for the prospects over the next patch or so.

Both. I'm playing as the Yankees, and Aaron Judge is listed as my team's 20th best prospect, when in reality he's a consensus top-2 prospect in the organization. On the list published annually, the top prospect in all of baseball is Triston McKenzie, who MLB.com has listed as the 6th best prospect in the Indians organization.

However, since playing the game last night, there have been some changes to the list. For example, the #2 prospect on the annual list was a Phillies prospect named Cornelius Randolph who has since dropped to #23.

It's also worth noting that I am in the first week of 2016 so it's not like I played through a few years and these players have developed throughout the course of the simulation.

We're still working on these, but I would guess you have scouting turned on, which results in the lists being fairly randomized.

To see the actual rankings you'll need to turn scouting off first

Thank you! That fixed it. Just one more thing... turning scouting off automatically set the scouting accuracy to '100% accurate.' Will this result in an unrealistic amount of prospects reaching their full potential, as opposed to the few that actually make it in real life?

No it won't affect the outcomes at all.
