Editing - Players Team
Is there a way via editing to change the team a player is on? This would be useful for people to make custom and updated rosters...using iFunBox (assuming you have the old iOS or they update the app for the new one), you could make all your changes without simulating any days and just upload that saved game for people to use.
Editing as of now allows you to do pretty much everything except easily change the roster a player is on (or to move them from FA to a team). Adding players would be nice too but given the limited database capabilities, you could just as easily edit an existing scrub prospect if need be. |

The answer is no. But wondering if you could go to that players team and change your managing to that team and cut him then change managing to the team you want him on and claim him?
Crazy work around. Hmmm. |

But every time you do this days have to be simulated which is what I am trying to avoid so you can start with a clean slate accurate roster. |

Can't you just make all your changes this way before the season starts? |

You have to simulate a day to get the guy to sign. What you could do is edit the players stats and contracts down and trade them to where you want them and then edit their ratings back to original. |

I'm being picky I know. I guess you could also make the transaction into a trade whereby you deal a player for some no-name scrub prospect (and then you could always edit that scrub prospect into a real prospect for the other team). It's just a lot of work. |

There will be an updated roster coming out at some point, hopefully soon....... If that's what you're trying to do

I can assure you, there won't be a new roster coming out after this one

On a somewhat related note, if I change a player's name, it stays associated with the ID right? I won't have two statistical records.

Is this a solution?
Take a player on your team and edit him to duplicate the player you want. Then edit the player as he appears on the other team's roster to something else (perhaps the player you edited, in effect trading the two players) -- or just change his name so as not to rob the other team of a good player. There might be player attributes that cannot be changed, of course, possibly (e.g.) a hidden value for "greed" affecting future negotiating, a value which I think the full version of this game has. I really do not know the workings of the game well enough to offer this idea, but I hate wasting all that typing. Hmmm, now I hear a little rascally voice inside my head tempting me to finally get Tom Seaver this way. |

Yeah but then all stats for that player will be the stats of the former player.
I think your best solution is to edit the ratings down to allow the cpu to agree to trade whatever player you're looking to trade and just edit the rosters to your liking that way. |

Not exactly what you're talking about but I took the ratings for Mickey Mantle from 1956 (Triple Crown) and duplicated as best I could on a lowly rated player in current day and watched what he could do. Nice results. I changed his DOB to the age he was in 56 to the current year. |

Good point, Wodi, if this sleight of hand happens after the season begins.
