132 game season

Just curious where y'all would set the single season win standard at? 1982 setting, but stamina set to low instead of normal. Use of relief pitchers often, Closers, very often. Using strict--occasionally. Looking like the staff ace will start 26-28 games.

I was thinking 15, I'm closing in on the end of the first season and the top win guy has 18 with around 10 games left to play. He's 18-4 over 25 starts. I think another pitcher has 16 wins and then there a few more that have 15.

Would love your thoughts and opinions, but I don't want a lecture on how "pitcher wins" don't matter etc. etc.

Either 20 or 22. I'm pretty strict -- I want the milestones achieved maybe once or twice a decade. 22 should get you that, but 20 is a rounder number.

20 wins in a 162 game season equates to a bit over 12.5% of the games a team played being won by a pitcher that reached that mark. That percentage against 132 games yields about 16 wins. When the percentage of 20 wins in 154 games is applied to 132 games, it yields 17 wins.

I'd probably recommend 18 wins though. It's more difficult to achieve than 20 wins in 154/162 games, but that'll make it a bit more special when someone does it.

I love shorter schedule. Not too short to lose the evening factor, but 162 and lose my interst.
I can use 96 sometimes but fav is 120. So i drop all milestones by 30 per cent.

In your case 132 that is a bit more than 20% to Get to 162.
So to me 17 wins would be like 20
325 home runs would be like 400

Cheers

I couldn’t think of the correct word.
But you know. If you have a league of 20 games lots of .400 hitters and .80 era and a guy with 11 home runs.
At 50 games it evens out slightly. I have found 90 games is the base minimum to have stats somewhat in proportion to a 162 season set of stats. I go with 120 now. Enough games and in my head is a 35% of stats. 30 hr in my league is like 40 to 41 in the old.

I'm running a 132 game season also; but, using 4 man rotations as a standard throughout the league. 20 wins seemed to work OK for that (only a season in though). Based on that, I think 15 would be OK - especially since you reduced the fatigue ratings. Suppose it depends on how frequently you want the mark attained.

I think I looked at the %'s a little bit differently than others in their methodology (% of games in season). For me, I'm looking at what % of starts do you want/need to get a W to reach the milestone. Assuming you are using a 5 man, that's 26-27 starts (likely 27 for the Aces). So 15 out of 27 vs 20/36 for modern day; but probably a little more likely due to slightly smaller sample size (season) having higher volatility.

I think 15 is what you are looking for if you want to keep the milestone at a "round" number. If you don't care/want to be a bit more restrictive, I think 16 is the number.
