2 Ballpark Questions
I'm an idiot and posted this a minute ago in the wrong forum...
I've got a fictional league and I've been using silvam14's fictional ballparks (Thank you so much for this incredible work. You've transformed an amazing game into an absolutely awesomely super amazing game) and I just have 2 questions that I'm sure have been answered but I can't find. 1. Are these park factors taken into account during simulation? For example, if a park is a home run hitters park, will that team tend to hit more homers and will road teams playing there hit more homers during a sim? Also, is attendance factored? If a stadium has less capacity will it effect a teams attendance? 2. Pretty sure this is a stupid question but are ball locations taken into account while playing out games in 3D? In the ballpark editor there are a few tabs, one of which is ball locations on the park image. But, do those locations factor into 3D playing? My assumption is yes. Thanks! |

Let me piggy back on that and ask again,
Any idea on when OOTP19 will upgrade the mod so we can use those great ballparks? |

As noted in other threads. The ballparks can still be used, but they must be downloaded and installed manually. They will work with any version of the game.
The directions are found in the "Inventory of 3D Ballparks" thread that contains each of the downloads: Quote:

I don't see an answer to your first question... the answer is YES!!! Those factors are the difference between Coors Field 90s model and the 70s-era Astrodome (you can and should load some historical seasons and look at different park factors.
Seating capacity is also critical. I haven't tried in a long time, but IIRC if you start in the 1800s the ballparks will all have tiny capacities and will limit attendance accordingly. Or, for example, if you decide to relocate a big league team and want to pretend they are expanding a minor league park you have to bump up the attendance. If you put the A's in Raley Field in Sacramento they'll never draw more than 11,000 or whatever unless you change capacity. The fence dimensions are purely cosmetic though. I don't use 3D so I don't mess with ball positions.
