That's fair, it depends on who you;re facing and how you're using him.... I use Vida as a reliever.(hence why the comparative was so biased)... I think there's something to be said as to opp vs Lefties and the increased K's ..

That Peak Cedeno card is a sneaky sort of good. Not many Peak cards retain their elite speed (Ozzie sure didn't), and Cedeno's defense improved significantly over his 1972 card. I dare say this card is easily good enough to find its way onto some whale teams as a 4th OF or a vLHP OF Platoon option.

Adding this one to the stupid things I've done that I most regret list: Selling off my Cardinals collection after I abandoned my Cardinals Theme team. Would have probably needed at most a few cards to complete the entire collection.

Did just complete Stan the Man for around 25K. Someone put up Haddix for 7999 BIN and I couldn't click fast enough. Rotation looks a lot better with Brecheen in it.

Currently nibbling on the Browns, Senators/Twins, and the Padres. (I have yet to complete any set of combo missions after giving up on the Reds because I wanted to get done before PT 21 comes out...)

I'm actually only missing silver cards for the Browns. The problem is that they are priced like diamond cards. What is so special about Clint Courtney (70) that makes him cost 7k? I mean, the reward for the mission is probably worth it, but … whyyy? Is he part of another 50 missions? Because I'm not seeing it.

I have two of the Padres missions done; for the remainder I have hit the same snag as above: shed thousands and thousands for silver cards (Tony Gwynn) or buy the diamonds for the same price.

I am 1/5 on the Senators/Twins (but haven't filed away for my awesome (69) Kevin Tapani quite yet, although I can barely contain myself), and I am actually just nine cards short of perfect Johan, six of which could be eye-wateringly priced silver cards, although it does not seem quite as bad this time as with the other two sets. Still making a "meh" noise right now… getting a Boof Bonser (55) wouldn't hurt, either.

Having perfect Big Walt is of course a tremendous boost to the earliest mission in the set. Not that I have it complete…

I'm with you, the great thing about Cedeno is that he bats right.... I have plenty of great LH on the OF too bad his arm is so weak, if not he would be a 5 tool player.

Sometimes, I have completed a collection that involves locking up expensive cards for paltry rewards. To avoid accidentally clicking the submit button which is oh so prominently placed, I put cards up on the AH for "absurdly high" prices. And then sometimes they sell...

On the cusp of finishing off Senators/Twins as well for my Xenos who are struggling to get to .500 in Perfect.

Don Lock and Aurelio Rodriguez are also good for the Texas Rangers: The Third Senators which yields ... Ed Brinkman (65). But if you're going for SE Ivan Rodriguez this info could be useful. Side note: Out of the 5 Rangers missions, including the overall, 3 of them yield catchers?

While I'm sure this was a contributing factor, I think timing was more important. This card was released a very short amount of time before the Browns mission dropped, and without a lot of time to accumulate inventory, it was still going for a couple thousand even while other Browns cards were going for prices you'd more expect for silvers. The fact that the Sisler reward is highly regarded helped speculators increase the price from there.

So on a scale of 1 to, oh, 7k, how much would it annoy you if I bought that Courtney?

the stan the man mission is absurd value. I couldnt believe that reward for just one diamond out of many options and one gold, would be a 125K card if it was in packs based on quality

I agree, but Harvey Haddix costs like a diamond right now so it might as well be two.

You should do it, and then sell it back for 9K.

While waiting for Bryan Garcia to complete Tigers live, I put up one the silvers for 3K, just because, and -- it sold. So, now I didn't mind paying 500 to get Fulmer back and iron Garcia for 250. The whole collection was free plus the reward card sold for net 6k. Nobody is stupid, well, stupid would be buying silver Mattingly 75 when you need silver Mattingly 79. But, months later, maybe I can get recoup that "mistake" and even profit by it because you need Mattingly 75 for Nuclear Powered and its diamond pack.

Been waiting weeks and weeks for some Diamonds to show up on the AH to complete some major missions. With no Diamond Pack special in sight, and shrinking activity late in the game cycle, I don't have much hope.

Been there, done that.

Just not with a card that would be worth much now, either.

i decided that i am going to concentrate on going after the collections for awhile. i am starting with the Tallest. i have 3 of the 5 that i need for a standard pack. i will sell off all after completing them. Eventually i want to work on the White Sox, Cubs & Cardinals missions but i am gonna knock out all the standard pack ones 1st.
