Templates?
Is anyone willing to share a jersey template for GIMP that a newbie would be able to navigate?
I'm looking to start creating my own jerseys and I am unsure how to start. I have GIMP (because I can't afford Photoshop) and would like to start soon. I know templates are probably highly protected, but if you don't mind someone else using your templates could you help me out? Thanks |

1. Try a search. I was able to find this (http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...templates.html) pretty quickly. There are probably others. It's a very friendly, sharing community.
2. You might also give justafan's jersey creator a try. You can do a ton with that especially if you're willing to throw in a custom layer from Gimp. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...y-creator.html

Go to the bottom of the page. There are Photoshop templates that you can use.

Thank you Bobble for your reply, I downloaded the first one before posting this request and was instantly confused with all the layers. Is there a tutorial out there for it? Sadly I have a Mac, so no Justafan for me. However, eriqjaffe just released a web based jersey creator, so I may be set! Thanks again! |

Probably. We (the OOTP community) have been doing uniforms for a number of years. I would suspect there's a tutorial somewhere on the boards. Do a search for it and you should find something you can use.

Look at the sticky above about a jersey tutorial. It is written for OOTP 7-9 and uses Paint Shop Pro but the information still applies. I also updated the link in the first post. YouTube can be good for video tutorials on how to use layers or other tools for GIMP, PSP, Paint.net and Photoshop. Google searches are also good. Of course this site can help with more specific OOTP questions. The templates have dozens of layers, most of which are optional. This is so you can easily customize jerseys and not have to re-create a design again.

I can upload a GIMP template if you still need it.

Please do. Even if the O.P. doesn't need it, the silent lurkers of the community might. Every resource we share is a good thing.

I can't speak for him but DCHepler25 has a template for Gimp that - if you ask kindly - he may share it with you.
Here's the link to send him a PM: DCHepler25 Advice: Please be sure to give him credit for the template if you post any of your jerseys on the board here.
