Weird thing just happened with the market

I've been searching the market sporadically throughout the days for a few cards and it's been pretty dead. But then about 20 minutes ago there was all of a sudden about twice as many cards as before for each team I searched?

The cards weren't there when I searched previously, but all have times that mean they must have been added a while ago? (14 hours remaining etc)

Anyone else notice this, or is it a problem at my end?

An elaborate card-selling scheme?

I don't see how you would get a card to suddenly appear with 1 day 5 hours on it though? Check out the Red Sox, all of a sudden, 5 copies of 73 Steve Pearce all emerged, all start price 100, no BIN. It's very odd. About 10 Red Sox diamonds emerged at the same time, all with different times remaining.

I don't really understand what happened, whether they'd always been on the market and just weren't showing up on my app, or if they've just been added all at the same time somehow with weird times?

1 day, 5 hours can be done through custom auction length. Possibly someone is really playing the market part of this game and maybe some other markets and that's their thing...

Maybe I guess, just seems weird just how many cards seemed to turn up all of a sudden. I guess it could just be one of those things, but it definitely seemed odd

It didn't seem like that, unless one person was able to instantly put about 200 cards on the market in the space of a few minutes, all with custom times so they looked like they'd been up a while.

5 Steve Pearce cards coming on the market at the exact same time at the exact same price for instance, is weird, by anyones definition. (especially as they weren't price fixed or anything, just minimum start price, no BIN)

It at least seemed far more like a bunch of cards just hadn't been showing up when I searched for them previously, then all of a sudden popped up as they should have

I mean, that's weird right? 5 Steve Pearce and 6 Walt Dropo's posted at almost the exact same time for minimum price?

Again. AND?

You can easily post ten cards per minute if the game is responsive even with custom times. All auction end times are rounded to the same second in a minute, so they were not posted at the same time either. No need for vaguely defined conspiracy theories. Accept it and let it be, for crying out loud.

So you think it's perfectly normal for someone to have randomly collected 5 Pearce's and 6 Dropo's and then randomly decided to sell them all at the same time, for the minimum price, with a weird custom timer of 29 hours? (there are also 3 Pedroia's, 3 Runnells, 3 Andrews, 3 Foys, 3 Ferrells, 3 Vaughns and 3 Muellers on the previous pages that are the same, so clearly whoever it is just likes collecting silver Red Sox players so he can release them all into the wild as a big pack?) I guess it could be someone who has opened a billion packs and is sorting through their collection, but you have to admit that it is odd, no idea why you seem so affronted by this.

I didn't mention any conspiracy theories, no idea what you are getting at there, it seemed more like a bug to me. I was curious as to whether this was a known bug or if it's just on my system. No idea why you are so weirdly defensive here.

There's been some market hijinks the past few weeks. A few weeks ago someone was deliberately creating bubbles by encouraging speculation on individual cards that had little or no bottleneck value for missions. The gold Dempster got up into 6k territory before crashing back down to <2k, and Fosse was another one. It isn't difficult to manipulate a market as small as PT's, though the most profitable manipulation happens in diamonds.

The devs have stated they don't seed the market with cards (which would cause price deflation and ultimately reduce PP sales anyway), so in the case of the Red Sox cards someone is likely testing how quickly they can turn over a bunch of cards or thinning out their collection.

People posted bronze cards for a billion PP. People have posted all types of cards for quicksell value. People are known to have hoarded multipe copies of the same card, whatever card. Everything is possible. Making a new thread every time something strange appears on the market is absolutely pointless.

Does OP not know how custom auction lengths work? why is a guy listing a small handfull of cards worth a conspiracy thread? He collected some red sox cards thinking a mission would make them valuable, one hasnt, so hes selling. call the press!

If you set a custom auction length, it will default to that for the next auction. So the fastest way to list guys is to list for min price and the same length. Not hard to basically just click down your list of duplicates and sell all the excess.

Is it necessary to be so ugly?

Hey, lay off the guy. Is it a crime not to know how custom auctions work? Now, because of this post and the grace of God he knows. Whew! I am sure his life has been enriched beyond all expectations.

And the OP didn´t mention conspiracies at all, he simply wondered if it were a glitch.

You, and indeed Westheim as well, could have easily posted what Matt said later, but instead you chose the low road. Nice work.

No he didn't and spun his yarn from there, feeding off another weird theory specialist.

That's how "X is totally broken, I read it here on the board" threads are born, when X works perfectly fine. Nobody needs those threads...

Westheim what nobody needs is your unhelpful attitude. Dictating what people should post about and then insulting them when they ask a simple question is very poor behavior and does not reflect well on your upbringing.
If you don´t like a post then don´t click on it, and barring that, there is the ignore tool that can save you from having to view such horrible threads.
Don´t be a curmudgeon, the world has enough of them.
