Historic Players and this years rosters

Hey all. Is there a way to add historic players to today's rosters? I want to add a few Boston legends to the roster and not sure how to go about it.

It's actually incredibly easy now. On your free agent page on the top right there's a drop down menu, one of the options is "Import Historical Players." When the historical players options screen comes up, there's an option to select a text file.

Let's say you want Ted Williams. If you go to his Baseball Reference page you'll see a player ID in the URL box.

Willite01

When creating the text file, put the IDs with a comma and then the year. And now there's an option that lets you send the player directly to a team. So if the three letter abbreviation for your team is BOS, you add another comma and use that.

willite01,1941,BOS

Repeat that process for your other players. Create a list in a text file in notepad and you can import all your players in a snap.

I read somewhere that when importing to a specific team you have to add a space and the year after the team name. Try it and see if it works.

Tell me about it. I spend more time on the forums than I do playing the game. LOL. After two years my fictional league has only gone from 1901-1957. But I'm deeply involved in the league so I want it all to be working right, have the best unis and logos, ballparks, etc.
