Division Names
I'm in need of division names or inspiration for the same. I've decided to utilize the traditional Northeast, South, etc... geographically based for the ML level, but for all of the minors, COL, and HS, I'd like to use something a bit more novel or interesting. OTOH, universal nomenclature would work as well.
Each level has four divisions, so I can either repeat the same division names throughout all of the levels, or assign unique division names at specifics levels. I'm favoring the latter, but open to ideas and thanks in advance for any input.

How about a major river in each region?
NE could be Ohio River Division SE Tennessee River Division SW Rio Grande Division NW-Columbia River Division Or you could name the divisions after a Native American Indian Tribe in each region Or major geographical landmark in each area Desert, Smokey Mountian, Great Lakes, Rocky Mountain Division, Hope this helps give you some ideas. |

Consider looking at some real league names for inspiration. Here are the leagues in operation in 1950 for example, about when the minor leagues peaked:
http://www.baseball-reference.com/re...nors&year=1950 The Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League was usually referred to as "The Three I League." The Pennsylvania-Ontario-New York League was known as "The PONY League." |
