Can you cite even one instance in which the community definitely stated as much? Even one instance where the community complained about tanking *EXCEPT* for the egregious case where the tanker in question ran all-iron/bronze at a high level?

I'm glad I didn't buy any Diamond Packs with my PP. I've opened quite a few Diamond Packs lately from missions and I've got a boatload of nothing. Especially the LIVE and historical Blue Jays sets, which are not really worth it aside from getting lucky on the Diamond Packs. Oh well, I'll use Dave Stieb and Mark Eichhorn for a bit on the Crayons.

At some point, I imagine you'll run out of axe to grind when it comes to your feelings of "persecution" over how you play your team versus how others play theirs.

Boys, take it to the tanking thread.
Also, been nibbling on the Reds missions as well as the Padres' and the Amazin' Mets solo mission for a while now, but can't make any progress worth posting about on a regular basis. I tried to make myself not buy any silver card for more than 500 PP, but that is not a stance that gets you anywhere anymore.

Today I finished the athletics after finding a seybold for around 20K. Thats all I had in progress until the next teams come out and I should be 90% of the way there if any are enticing.
I want to put Waddell in the rotation over Vida Blue as he is definitely better, but 150K better? Not so sure about that. The Charles Bender reward is just a slight step down from Vida and should be selling for quite a bit more than the 60K or so it says. |

Community poll - do you think it’s worth starting an Athletics collection from basically scratch?
The team I would be doing it with has only completed “Goin to Kansas City” and only did that for economic considerations. The mission was only economical because I opened Ed Charles in a pack a month prior.

I'm kinda doing the same thing. I need some good pitchers and the A's missions seem like a good way to do it.

I thought I could get cheeky and nab the Jose Canseco on the cheap that was up for 15k/25k. Who has PP on a Tuesday?
Anyway someone hit the buy-it-now and refunded my bid. I'll B.I.N. next time. Still 2 cards away from the Athletics mission... |

Best pack in a while. See whether you can guess why.

Yeah. I feared that would be the one left over from that ghastly 12-for-13 Padres collection. Not that they're not on the market. But I cringe at 2k PP for an iron card. Still not finished with that, but that sure is a great boost. I miss among two others the Benito Santiago card, which I actually do have, just on a different team.

My guess (and it's just fun making wrong guesses after you already know the answer) is it's the Bleier card that can get you 100 PP on the AH. Or maybe that Jay Bruce is the final card you need to complete the LIVE Phillies mission for Lenny Dykstra?

Also just in case people didn't catch the news in other threads, new collections are coming on both Tuesday and Thursday of next week.

Paid 650 for a wild Benito Santiago that appeared yesterday in the evening, then won a Kevin McReynolds for some 2.6k overnight, which completed the second of four Padres missions for me, and means I don't have to pay 4k for a silver Tony Gwynn.
I'm now six cards removed from The Hoff, but that will include at least three cards that are either Diamonds or insanely priced Tony Gwynn variants again, so it's probably another 25k or so and I have bled myself dry of PP while getting this far... ...and even that calculation assumes that this Mark Loretta card actually exists somewhere in the wild and can be bought…

I could actually complete the Live Snakes for less than the quick-sell value of Dan Haren... IF there was a Kevin Ginkel available… -.-
