It's just a phone, just a car, ... The point ins't the game, we also have problems with our phones and whatnot, the problem is the company behind the product that you bought not the game itself. If you buy a new car and it runs in troubles from the minut it left the dealership you start to worry and hope it gets fixed soon. But if the dealer goes completely silents after 11 months of working on all your problems and you have no idea what's next because the chief-mechanics has personal problems there is something seriously wrong with your company. [making small talk mode] One thing I wouldn't like to be at this moment and that's the owner/boss of OOTP Developments because Sebas proved with this 'issue' that he is a way too important asset of this game. Without him it looks like there is no FHM or a replacement. Last time I checked people who are that kind of important to a company got taken care of very well. Without all craziness on a stick, get well soon Sebas!

If I started a new(fictional) league today,no doubt about it, the new patch would be out by tomorrow.

<tongue firmly in cheek> What's This? NO FHM2015??? and there never was a final patch for 2014??? What the Mike Milbury is going on here??? The SEASON started tonight, for goodness sakes!!! What am I EVER to do???
Now having said that, would a Christmas launch be too much to hope for?... |

If they are waiting too make the game 100 percent perfect,we are in for a long wait.
I would rather play the game with a few bugs than wait forever and a day for the next patch or the next version of the game. |

They are still working away on the game and patch.

Yes, the final FHM 2014 update and FHM 2015 are still being worked on. We will give more information when we're prepared to do so. Nothing has changed from previous status updates. Thanks.

Dave1927, I'm glad to see she has the same effect on you... Stacy Williams was a model and in a fair amount of SI swimsuit editions from my misguided youth. I found a jpg. of one of her old posters by luck and I keep her there over my wife's jealous reactions for the past couple years.

If you are supporting this game, like this post.
I'm still in - never left, despite what we know and what happened. GO FHM GO

I was incredibly excited for this game and bought the beta right away. Then I was terribly disappointed with the way the game was rolled out, but I decided to stick around and see if the developers could learn from their initial mistakes and produce a solid product. When they announced the final patch would include -- among other improvements -- a revised match engine, I thought my patience would pay off.
But now I'm close to abandoning FHM forever, and it makes me sad. I had high hopes for this game, but I've lost faith that the developers have the skills and/or resources to pull it off successfully. Version 1.0 was released on 3 September 2013 -- over a year ago. The latest patch was released on 28 May 2014 -- over four months ago. The new match engine that is supposed to be in the final patch was first mentioned on 6 January 2014 and details were posted on 30 January 2014 -- over eight months ago. I understand that when dealing with a small development company there are likely to be challenges. I know Sebastian has struggled with some personal issues, and I truly sympathize. His personal well-being should absolutely come before any job or game. His troubles have undoubtedly delayed the final patch and that's O.K. As I said, these types of things can happen when dealing with a small company. But forget the initial release. It's now been over four months since the last patch and over eight months since they first talked about the new match engine. And they're still not willing to give even a broad estimate of when the final patch will be released. I understand not giving a specific release date -- they don't want to make promises they may not be able to keep, and that's a good idea. But they promised us a new match engine over eight months ago, and there's still no sign that it's coming. I bought the FHM beta nearly a year and a half ago, and I've stuck with it ever since on the hope they could get the issues worked out. I think they owe us at least an estimate of when the final patch will finally be released. If they can't do that, then I'm done with FHM and OOTP. |

To be honest, the only thing that has kept my interest in this game alive is the fact that there really is no competition. I have played better hockey Sims before, but none of them had the AI to make reasonable transactions between non_human controlled teams. I wish that there was some real competition out there as it would only serve us, the game buying public, better.
Basically, despite my love of OOTP baseball, I would ditch FHM in a heartbeat if another game met my needs. |
