I'm pumped for modern day and curious about historical.
I'd like fictional one day too but happy with this. Ideally i'd like to change the modern day start date to 1940, and edit the world to the way i see fit leaving all the major european leagues but just reducing the NHL to 6 teams

Crap, just voted while multi-tasking and accidentally voted for fictional, which was not my intent.....ugh.
For me: Historical (see earlier comments regarding my Blues and erasing the damage caused by the Brendan Shanahan/Scott Stevens fiasco and then the Mike Keenan debacle.) Modern no desire to play fictional

1. Fictional
2. Modern 3. Historical But actually, I plan to play all 3 at a moment or another, and playing fictional is usually, to me, largely "taking the real life and modifying it to a good extent by adding leagues, players, nations and changing rules" and not "creating a 100% fictional universe". |

I enjoy modern the most in OOTP 13 so I think it will be the same with FHM.

I guess this probably would have been a better place to post this...
1. Modern--Leagues 2. Modern--International 3. Historical 4. Fictional I'm not focused on being able to create a league. I would enjoy playing with, say, the 92-93 Pens. But I really want a current game with a wide variety of playing options. |

I am not yet sold on Ice Hockey as a sport (I think Basketball would make much more sense - there aren't any simulators that I know of that reach the the quality of long-term fun of OOTP13).
But when/if I play FHM, I'd certainly want to start a fictional league, since I am absolutely not "burdened" by knowledge of the real-world NHL (I just occasionally watch it on ESPN America). |

Historical mode needs more love. Just think of the possibilities! They are practically endless.
I know historical will be a huge hit on HF Boards. We really are a community of hardcore hockey fans. There's even a sub-forum dedicated to the history of hockey. |

Historical - This mode is the best!
Fictional - because when I was a kid I made up fictional teams complete with jerseys and logos and kept stats and standings with my version of dice hockey. Modern - This mode is last because the modern day NHL is a bit of a turnoff for me. |
