Unable to start game
When I click on the OOTP 18 desktop icon, I was asked for my Steam log-in, which had not happened before. Then, it prompted me to install the game as if I had never played it before.
I searched the forum and didn't see anything about this. Will a re-install cause me to lose all of my progress? Is there a way to get the game to start rather than re-installing? Thanks in advance for any help. |

You sent in a support ticket on this as well, right? If so I replied there. If it was someone else though, just let me know and I'll get back to you.

Hey Lukas, Yes I submitted a ticket. Sorry for the duplicate question, I decided to submit the ticket after OOTP twitter account suggested that. Thanks!

I recently was required to "sign-in" to Steam as well, after clearing my Steam cache due to Malwarebytes blocking the execution even though the file was excluded. I'd fortunately remembered my login info and after a restart Steam worked fine, clicking the desktop icon. FWIW

I ask this question sincerely but each time I have it has seems to annoy people. Why do problems with Steam not go to Steam and why have I never seen a solution to Steam problems from Steam posted here.

It always seems to be a work-alone effort to overcome any obstacle; always happens suddenly, then after an hour or so of persistence, like any other day I suppose, I find a way to tame the beast and move on to the next. It can be frustrating, most certainly.
