8 Team AL/NL (no expanison or relocation)

Hello! I would welcome a little advice/clarification.I am trying to set up a world where I use historical AL/NL rosters (starting in say 1901) but where teams don't relocate automatically (e.g the Dodgers don't move to LA/Giants to SF) and the leagues don't expand as they did historically.Purpose of this set up...well I like 8 team leagues and want to keep AL/NL at 8, I want to have the PCL set up as a major League (fictional league addition I assume) and maybe add the Continental League or a Canadian League in a similar way (and I could manually expand/relocate as I wish).I also want the historical players to enter the world (historical rookies) in the correct years but not necessarily go to the MLB - e.g when Reggie Jackson comes into the World he may be drafted by a PCL team.Is this possible at all as am struggling with getting it to work (as I would like it to in my head!). Any assistance would be gratefully received

The first part of your question is easy. Just turn off the option for historical expansion. From that point on, if you want teams to move, your league to expand, or teams to switch nicknames, it will be up to you to do so manually.

You could have the historical rookies enter a draft or as FA's instead of showing up on their original teams. If you want a draft then set it up for 1Dec. Then the historical rookies will show up for the next year I.E. if a rookies debut year is 1990 then you want him to show up for the draft Dec 1989. If you want the rookies to show up when they first started pro ball but not necessarily in the majors yet then use historical minors.
