Bring life back to spring training.
So I think it would be nice to have the option to assign goals in spring training, for players.
Maybe a slider bar for players that has different options like focusing on left handed pitchers/right handed pitchers, fielding fly balls/fielding ground balls, etc. So in spring training we can tell someone that is weak against lefties to focus on that area in spring training. Now if this is something that would take awhile to code, how about making it more general. Maybe just options for the whole team to focus on. |

I would be happy if they added a 'coach's evaluation' to spring training.
Spring isn't just the games. Have a coach's report telling us who is doing well, who is struggling... and at what.

Yes, this would be nice. And maybe a report during the first week of spring training that says things like "Player X reported to camp looking like he's in the best shape of his life" or "Player Y spent the winter working on his curveball."

What happens if ST stats don't match the commentary?

I imagine they often won't. Spring Training stats are way too small a sample size to mean much.
Which is why it would be nice to actually get something more meaningful out of ST.

Then how can a coach say who is doing well or badly?

Because in real life there is much more to Spring Training than just games. The coaches will be telling you how the player is doing overall, not just in games.

GREAT IDEA! That would make total sense... Right now, most people just play their best players and squeeze in a rookie or two at the very beginning of ST to see what happens. With Split Squad Games you can take advantage of your entire organization to get them some valuable play time especially with non roster spring invitees option in the game.
Love it. Jason |

Split squad gets my full endorsement lol. I also agree that there should be much more evaluation going on than just stats. But then what would the stats only guys do?
