Dp you Sim through the winter? Or wait until Spring Training?

My last custom league season ended a couple weeks ago. I was going to wait until the spring to start my next year ... buy my excitement got the better of me and I started my next year and will play it through the cold winter months. Probably finish in time to start another year with Spring Training. Am I alone? Do you guys play all year 'round or do you break for football and hockey season?

Just curious in Jersey...

I play much more in the winter. The summer is for watching (playing if I still could) baseball and doing all the stuff that summer allows.

OOTP and winter are ideal friends.

OOTP goes extremely well with all months that contain an R, and even better with all months that do not contain an R.

I can get 3 seasons in during beta. Not recently though. Work interferes mightily.

I play right along with the real date. If it's October 30, 2016 in real life, it's October 30, 2016 on my OOTP league. I dont jump right to a next season. I like to play it like real life where my winter meetings are happening at the same time as the real MLB (roughly). Spring training, draft, playoffs, etc.
Some may think that's boring since there isn't a lot to do in the offseason. But as the saying goes, there really is no "off"season. Plus, I don't want to win a championship (hopefully) and then start right in on another season. I want to enjoy it for awhile like the real MLB.

This is us too. The Bull Leagur runs an offseason short schedule league in Australia / NZ to occupy some of the cold months. But we sim according to calendar time. We slipped ahead by 4 weeks right now but will have it so we are simmed only 1 week ahead. it allows us time for posting stories and videos so that they are released on their actual event dates

I tend to play 2 seasons per league per calendar year. i have 3 leagues. Right now editing players for my custom EBL league. Should finish by Thanksgiving. While i work on that i'll finish my 2000 ABF season and start a new 1871 historical MLB. By MLB OD I should be at the end of 2026 EBL. 2002 ABF and get to 1876 in MLB.

I'm not sure one would not play OOTP during the off-season. That is one of its strengths... that you can always play it.

Play as often as life allows. More affected by work and family than by seasons.
