import roster issues!!

Hello all,
I've been trying to fix this all night and searched everywhere but I cant find the answer yet.
I started a fictional league which included most of the 30 ML teams and a bunch of canadian and mexican teams as well.
I wanted to import MLB players and then fill in the gaps with fictional players.
I've tried everything. ...i think.
So I tried starting a separate game with MLB teams and rosters and exporting the roster file, then going back to my fictional league and importing. It loads and says complete but no players show up.

I then went back to mlb game and tried dumping players into free agent pool and exporting that.. then returned and imported and no players showed up.

Tried a 2nd old fictional league and exported those rosters and tried importing... nothing.

something I tried along the way got me a free agent pool filled with players that had numbers instead of names and were all aged 0. ...not sure how i did that.

I've tried deleting all existing players before import... leaving fictional players and importing on top of them...

then i came here thinking i could download a 2017 mlb roster but ...man..why is that so hard to find?? I see minor leaguers and new players and even managers and umpires. I just need a working mlb roster that i can import to my league.

The only other thing i can think of trying is to start a new mlb league then add my league to it and somehow grab the players off one and onto the other.. but it shouldnt be this hard.

any help out there???

Nevermind.. I was able to do it by creating a new MLB league inside my fictional league...dumping the mlb players into free agency...exporting roster...going to fictional league and importing roster.

the only trouble is now I have too many free agents so im stuck dealing with the never-ending free agency load loop.
