Issues with Carolina Hurricanes Position Assignments
It looks like there are some issues with Carolina Hurricanes players being assigned to the opposite side of where they are positioned in real life.
Build 09.56 Examples of the left/right switch up: Jiri Tlusty almost always plays LW though he can play RW. In game he is positionally a RW. Tim Gleason, while able to play both sides, played LD most of the past 4 seasons. Joni Pitkanen has played LD most of his career, if not all of it. Pat Dwyer plays RW or C. Jeff Skinner has played more LW in his NHL career than RW, though he only does the hated spinn-a-rama when moving up the right. Former Canes with the same issue: Chad LaRose always played RW, though he did take some drops. Jamie McBain (now with the Sabres) always played RD. Joe Corvo (now with the Senators) always played RD as well. Now I know I can reassign players easily enough. Where I see the issue is with the current positional strengths. I think that the position strengths should be based on where players actually play or have a history of playing. By this I mean that someone who played center throughout juniors but played LW for 5 seasons in the NHL for example should have a strongest positional score in LW with C being higher than the other positions. |
