Another nail biting game, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are able to hold onto the sweeping game at home to take the series 2-0 heading to St. Louis. Mitch Marner and Tomas Hertl were the goal scorers for the Leafs, with Jake Gardiner having a big game with 3 assists Toronto Maple Leafs Lead Series 2-0 |

^I think I saved over something, cause the scores supposed to be 5-4 final in OT for Toronto... A little confused, as I am sure you are. I think I saved over in my sleepy state. My apologies. The Toronto Maple Leafs have done it! It took the full 60 mins and an overtime period, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are your Stanley Cup Champions! I've been keeping track of your thread here, when I can (work restraints) and I must say, I absolutely love the fact you appreciate muscle in your lineup aka: Reaves / Clifford as much as I do. I'm a huge fan of the "tough guys" (always have been) and always believe you need to protect your greatest assets.
Phenomenal dynasty storyline.. keep'em coming! =) |

I like hearing feedback regardless if it's an appraisal or something to you might want added in my posts and such. So thank you for that.
Also Kyle Clifford originally was the only tough guy I was going to run with, as he was doing it all during the season. getting points and roughin people up. Ryan Reaves was kinda a lucky break with St. Louis putting him on the waivers block. I figured seeing as my teams already came so far to make the playoffs, why not get someone to help the workload of Kyle Clifford. I really just expected Reaves to punish people and batter up the competition but come playoffs time he was locked and loaded played in all 19 of my playoff games on the fourth line. He not only bashed up a few people, but he collected 2 Goals and 5 Assists. 1 of those goals being the reason we won a game. Kyle Clifford the same boat, did exactly what he needed to do on the third/second line, played in 19 of my playoff games, getting 3 Goals and 5 Assists and again, one of those goals were the reason we won the game. As much as they're not grade appealing, they bring a lot to a team. Anyways little update on them for ya. Thank you again for your feedback. |

Season Progression: Despite losing Auston Matthews for 7 games, Jake Muzzin for 6 games and Ryan Reaves so far for 4 games, The Toronto Maple Leafs have had one heck of a starting. The Leafs made history breaking their winning streak of 10 games back in 2006–07 as they went 13-0-0. The Leafs are still undefeated in regulation in the 20 games of the season. Also to note the Leafs are tied with their history making 11 straight wins at home which was posted back in 1963–64 season. The point getters since Auston Matthews injury, have been thanks to Nikita Kucherov(14), Ryan Johansen(16), Morgan Rielly(19), Tomas Hertl(21) and Mitch Marner(24) just to name a few. Goaltending has been solid, as expected when you got the likes of Carey Price and Jake Allen in the net for the team. Currently Price has a 14-0-1 record, where Jake Allen is 4-0-1 in backing up Price. |

Notes: The Toronto Maple Leafs Season has been one to remember as they sit 9 point ahead of Edmonton for top team in the League. The Leafs also have smashed their 10 winning streak at home and continue to be undefeated at home this season with a 20-0-0 Record at home. The Leafs New Winning Streak is 13 from their past 11. Toronto was undefeated in regulation for 24 games before losing to the New Jersey Devils. |

Trade News
The Toronto Maple Leafs have be requested by Jake Gardiner for a trade. The 28 Year Old, LD has only been in the line-up 7 out of the 45 games played this season. In the 7 games he's recorded no point, is a +/- +1, and only has 8 shots on goal. He will join the Tampa Bay Lightning, along with a 4th Pick in this upcoming draft, and a 5th Round Pick in the next draft. The Leafs will get young prospect, 18 Yr Old, LW, Shawn Element. Element has been playing in the QMJHL and has recorded 35 Goals, 36 Assists for 71 Points in 43 Games. To say he is ready to move up to possibly an AHL snit or even a tryout on the main roster would be an understatement. Last season he played for the same team, record his 71 points, but was in 64 games. The trade comes as a surprise, as Gardiner has been a Toronto Maple Leaf since 2010. |

TRADE DEADLINE MOVES:
Toronto kept it pretty simple, trading some assets that weren't being used, to acquire some players that could become free agents at the end of the season. The Leafs Additions: 26, RW; Charlie Coyle | From Minnesota Wild * His strongest assets are his Goalscoring ability, able to avoid big injuries, he sets an example for his teammates in practice and has above average strength. *He can play on the first line in a pinch, but is best suited on the second or third line in this league. *His only weakness really is his physical play. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26, LW; Jeff Skinner | From Carolina Hurricanes *Skinner is able to adapt to new surroundings without any problem. *His strongest part of his game is his skating, Skinner is extremely durable and seems to avoid big injuries and can eat up a ton of minutes without wear down. *Coaches have tremendous respect for Skinner. *His only weakness is his physical play. --- Leafs will likely attempt to re-sign him down the stretch as he is an elite player in this league --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4th Round Draft Pick in 2019 | From Anaheim Ducks Parting Ways 26, LW; Scott Wilson | To Anaheim Ducks Despite being a steal from the waivers, Scott Wilson hasn't been able to crack a very determined and well rounded roster of the Toronto Maple Leafs. When getting his chances, he didn't seem to make expectations and finds himself trying his luck with the Anaheim Ducks. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 29, LW; Tyler Ennis, Rights to 19, LD; Max Gildon & Third Pick in 2021 | To Carolina Hurricanes Tyler Ennis is one of those guys you don't look forward to saying goodbye too. Despite not being a huge threat, he was a pinch clincher. The only real reason to see him go, was he wasn't too happy with the ice time given. Though when put in a second line role or filling in for first line, his numbers didn't seem to go anywhere. He will be missed, but gets his fresh start in Carolina. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22, LW; Jack Walker & 4th Round Pick in 2020 | To Minnesota Wild Jack Walkers been playing in the AHL with the Marlies and isn't a bad player at all. Hes collect 15 Goals, 13 Assists in 36 Games. The Leafs seem to be look to push for another Stanley Cup Finals this season, which will not involve Jack Walker in the line up as he will get his chance next year to make the Minnesota Roster. |

Toronto Maple Leafs Playoffs 2018/2019 | Series Summary: Toronto Continues to be undefeated at home in the playoffs now being 5-0-0. The one lose in the series came on the road in OT against the Montreal Canadiens. Auston Matthews & Mitch Marner had to up their games while Tomas Hertl went day-day with an injury which kept him out of games 3 and 4, but returned home to finish out the series in game 5. Big surprise from Nico Hischier. The 20yr Old C is playing his first ever NHL playoffs. He continues to impress as hes played in all 9 games, has 2 goals, 3 assists for 5 points with even one of those goals being the game winner! Also in his first NHL playoffs appearance, 24yr Old; Brendan Leipsic has been doing a fine job in place of LW; Jeff Skinner. Leipsic has been in all 9 games this post-season and has 2 goals, 5 assists for 7 points. Not to mention he's also tallied up a game winning goal. |

The Columbus Blue Jackets gave the Toronto Maple Leafs a fight, but with returns from Nikita Kucherov and Jeff Skinner, the Leafs were able to take game 7 thanks also to some stellar Goaltending from Carey Price. The Leafs will now face the Colorado Avalanche to crown this years 2018/2019 Stanley Cup Champions! |
