In Game Tactics
Hi guys,
Getting started in the game, and ploughing through the pre-season, but I'm not really sure what the deal is when you're in a game. When I play Football Manager for instance, I get a feel for how well players are performing etc, and can change tactics on the fly. But I feel that in FHM3 I don't really know what's going on unless I sit and watch it on normal speed which takes forever. What do you guys generally do/look for when you're in a game? Or do you just sit and watch? Thanks. SK |

The easiest way is to watch the Game Ratings, particularly the offense- and defence-specific ones - they can give you a bit of an indication as to how players are performing in a specific game.

I go into a game pretty blind on what I can change beforehand to make a difference, I need to delve further into tactics pre game. Then during a game I don't know what adjustments to make to swing momentum and create a tactical advantage? Thanks for the response. |

Basically, you want to maintain the tactical advantage, but also address any serious performance issues with your players: If a guy's defensive GR has dropped into the 30's, for example, it's probably a good idea to give him something else to do. However, you don't want to make a mess of your gameplan in the process by putting him in a role that doesn't fit it as well. Right now, though, it's too opaque as to whether or not a change is going to do that, so we're working on making the effects of in-game tactical changes a little clearer.

Hi Jeff,
thanks for the response. The more I play the more I'm learning. FYI, I purchased this game off the back of watching all the Twitch streams you've done archived on youtube. Prior to that I found out that this game existed on the Press Row Podcast and went from there. (I hadn't heard of it before, even as a hardcore hockey fan in the UK) Just thought that might interest you in terms of how effective those streams and the podcast interview have been in tempting me to purchase the game. It's a great game, it still needs a few tweaks, additions and changes here and there, but overall I'm really enjoying it. Great job by you and your colleagues in creating it. Your community interaction is also very good, it's great to have the producer of a game directly give me feedback and answer questions. That goes a long way in keeping me playing FHM3, and making me want to support future titles. THere's too much negativity on social media days, so just wanted to say bravo! |
