Logo Help

I downloaded some old AHL logos from the net and cut them down to 150x150. But they're all surrounded by white or black (in Maine's case). I don't know how to get rid of this? Is it an easy fix?

The background must be transparent (PNG image). The best is, you watch in the internet for PNG images that already have transparent backgrounds. Otherwise, you must use for example the graphic tool "Gimp" and paste the images on transparent background, then edit.
