Unhappy The Logo Oblivion?

So, in '06, when a team relocates and gets a new logo the previous logo just floats off to the logo oblivion, never to be seen again? Isn't that just a tad frustrating for those that play historical worlds or long-lived worlds with team movement? Hmmm.

Can't you just move the logos out of the folder before the move and back in after?

Once again my fingers don't completely say what my mind thinks. In all of the reports the game produces, when a team relocates, the previous logo is never seen again. Probably due to the way the game is written, when you are looking back thorugh history you can only see it through the eyes of the present.

As an example, if you start an historical league in 1901. What we call the New York Yankees was the Baltimore Orioles. If you've simmed up until, say, 1945 and want to look at the 1901 Orioles batting register you click on the 1901 Orioles batting register and in the header it says 1901 New York Yankees batting register. So not only does it not say "Baltimore Orioles" but it doesn't use the 1901 Orioles' logo, it uses whatever Yankees logos you're using for 1945. That 1901 Orioles logo just disappeared into the Oblivion.

All of this is kind of frustrating to me because a lot of us work hard on either making or collecting logos, only to have some of them just stop being used.

This has always bothered me also because I like to refresh team logos after every 10-15 years for some teams. I guess a fix would be to allow a table to be assigned to each team with the fields; teamid, firstyear, lastyear, logoid. But this would also require the end user to be able to add a name to the logo within the game so that it is attached to the team. A lot of work in my opinion for a cosmetic issue but one that would make this game more realistic.

I agree, albeit minor, it would be a nice addition that would make the game more realistic.

That does seem like an issue. My teams will change several times over the 19th century as well.

perhaps they need a franchise history section, much like the player history section..

Ex: The (current city/nickname), founded in 1902 as the (original city/nickname). Relocated in 1911 to (city) as the (nickname). So forth and so on through the ages.
