Few quick questions
Hi
Just bought the game and I'm having difficulties finding out how stuff works, since I haven't played the earlier versions or any other OOTP games. So a little help would be appreciated 1. How do I assign coaches? 2. How do I assign scouts? Other than letting AI decide? |

First, on the Manager Screen - Manager Options - Team Control Settings, make sure that Scouting is set to your control, not your assistant.
Scouting in the Manual: Go to Team + League Controls - Team - Scouting and make sure the Assignments option is selected in the dropdown on the right. Look for coaches who have nothing listed under Current Job. Right click the coach you wish to assign, then use the menu that comes up to assign them to a league or region, what they should look for, and how long they should look. Again, the manual will be a good resource. For assistant coaches assignment: Go to Team + League Controls - Team - Personnel You shouls see the list of people who work for you, with the coach assignments on the bottom. If you right click on an assistant coach's name, you should get options for release assistant, or assign to one of 4 roles. |

Where do you find players that are on waivers etc?

Waivers generally only last one day, so if you sim multiple days, you may miss people.
On the 'Home' screen (when you press the little house icon in the upper left corner, directly below where it tells you the name of the loaded game, unless you've changed things, the 3rd box from the left on the bottom should be Waivers, and have a button called Waivers. If you press it, you'll go to the waiver screen. Alternately, if you go to Roster under Team + League Controls, there is a button on the tab line for Waivers (and also trading block so you can see who teams are looking to move). |
