Extra Innings Baseball

Extra Innings Baseball is now in its second season. (The Red Sox defeated the Marlins in seven games to become our first champion.)

Extra Innings Baseball
Full league file (You can log in as guest.)

This league started with the Major League Baseball teams of 2013, fast simmed to 2018, and then launched this past February. We are now using OOTP15.

Quick overview:
* Financials have been adjusted in several ways, although the effect is subtle. The goal is to moderate the gap between financial haves and have-nots, and to slow down salary inflation.
* Nothing too far out in the the adjusted ruleset, but it has been adapted a bit to appeal to OOTP players who like to micromanage lineups, attend to full rosters rather than just the stars, and get deeply involved in minor league player development.
=>Daily sims, each covering just four days during the season
=>Low scouting accuracy and the not-too-granular 2-8 rating system
=>Injuries set to "high/realistic modern day" and high randomization of player development
Lots more details (and explanations why) here: http://www.bemont.net/extrainnings/c...trainnings.htm

This should be a stable, long running league. I commish three leagues, one of them going back more than ten years, so you don't have to worry about about us folding just after you get attached to your team.

San Diego is vacant. Wild card team last year, and a well run team. You would not be inheriting a mess.

Shoot me an email if you you want to take over the team.

We're in the off-season, and a rather neglected Seattle team is vacant. A bit of a project, but far from hopeless. They finished just below .500 this year.

Beorn is as rock solid as commishes get. Short daily sims keep the league progressing, but still allows you to really micromanage your team to changing situations. Bit of a unique setup, particularly for modern MLB.

San Diego Padres now open again. Was in the playoffs last year, leads the NL West this year in early June. First in the league in starting pitching, the less said about their run production, the better.

Atlanta looking for a new GM.

Late August, and the Braves are below .500. The team has been well cared for, but they are having an off season after finishing 87-75 last year.

Let me know if you are interested.

Seattle is vacant. Finished second last season, and they are in first place in the very early going of 2021... but in my opinion, they will be somewhat challenging to take over.

They have their first round draft pick Monday afternoon, so it would be great to get someone onboard by then.

Great Commish...knowledgeable, flexible, and all around good guy. Sims are run like clockwork. Good, capable, friendly GM's. Four day sims let you monitor your team closely. Very enjoyable league.

Mid-season, and San Diego and Colorado both need GMs.

Colorado has at least a chance at a wildcard, the Padres are a rebuilding project.

Let me know if you are interested in either one.

As we head to the playoffs, Arizona has become vacant.

The Diamondbacks finished below .500 but are far from hopeless. Let me know if you are interested.

As we approach the start of spring training, Minnesota is vacant.

Finished second at 84-78 last year.

Let me know if you are interested.

Opening Day is here, but we are in need of GMs for the Angels and Rockies.

Both are filled... but Seattle's GM also tells me he needs to step down, so we are looking for one more.

Arizona and Seattle are open.

Seattle is second in the AL West, and in the wildcard race. Above average hitting, weak starting pitching.

Arizona is a (distant) second in NL West, but also has a decent chance at the wildcard.

Both teams have decent prospects on the way. Neither team has a lot of extra money lying around, but both are financially sound.

Let me know if you'd like one of these teams.

Seattle is now filled, but Arizona still needs a GM.
