Ideas for boxing universes using the fictional fighters...

Once the 1000 fighters milestone had been reached, and knowing that each one will have a different idea regarding how a universe can be made with such a database I think it's a good moment for people to start sharing their ideas on how to deal with it. One of the good things of this game, and thus of the fictional world, is its flexibility.

I will start with my 5 cents on how -roughly sketched tho- I plan to run my universe while the database grows and grows or so I hope...

I will run the 8 cathegories at the same time, so it will take a lot of time to run a month of game time...thus the universe will advance real slowly.

The first step will be creating something of an "established" world before adding the more talented fighters...I will pick up some 30 or 40 fighters -rated 1 but not tomato cans- and, using the autoschedule, make them fight 6 or 7 bouts on a random basis...That would be done to make the newcomers have to climb a stair before they can get for the top places. This core of 30 or 40 fighters per division will fight among themselves for a while, being the nucleous of the universe...while we start adding the other ones, at a rythm of 6 or 8 per division and month...The newcomers will start facing tomato cans for their first 5 or 6 bouts, they may fights once per month unless they don't ko the tomato can opposition. For as long as possible, they will face tomato cans of their own nation or the nearest possible. Each fighter will have a percentual chance of fighting each month, this percentage depending on the output of their fights and the time that had gone since their last bout. As fighter they climb higher in the ranks, they will have smaller percentage of fighting.
Once the first 5 bouts they been fought, they will start facing ranked 1 rate fighters, once again to climb on the ladders of the division. now and then they will have a percentual chance of fighting either a tomato can or a fighter not belonging to the starting nucleous.
When they reach the 10 fights milestone, they will grow from begining to pre-prime...by then, there will be a rather large number of fighters per division.

Tell me what you think about it...as well as share your own ideas

It seems to me that you've got an interesting formula so you could build your universe on a very solid basis. As for me, I currently have two universes running (back to February) with fictional fighters (One of them is a mix of *real*/fictional fighters though). But I must say that none of them is based on very strict rules.

As for what's eventually coming up, I will wait until November before making my mind. I have some ideas about what I would like to do, of course, and one of my projects seems to show some serious similitude with yours, but what I will actually do mostly depend on the state of the creation project at the end of the first stage -- in November, as a matter of fact. So I guess I should be able to offer a better answer to your question a little bit later - lol
