I wish I had done this before joining P413's cap league. I had to auction off a few high priced guys quickly to buy golds and silvers I didn't previously have, but at the same time shuffling I then upgraded a few diamonds to make the most of my points. Would be interesting to compare...
My main Toronto Devs team apparently is at 277k. Tulo at 650 is the lowest, with Matthewson at 28.5 the top. Part of me definitely tempted now to throw them all up for auction and then go open like 250 packs... Although I don't think I could justify dumping my Expos guys in Pedro, Carter, or Raines. Maybe when I fail in the playoffs again this year and next, I'll at least sell off 5 or 6 of the big guys and try to get up to 50 or 60 packs to open and test my luck...

I just don't trust my pack luck. As fun as that might be to try, with my luck I'd end up with a team of 7 Paxtons and a whole bunch of irons.

My pack luck has been mixed...but I did pull a couple of good historical diamonds recently that were worth about 70k total.

I'd love to be able to create leagues with average AH PP limits for each team. Then everyone would be on a completely level playing field.

There is a mini whale diamond and perfect league that limits how many perfect diamond and gold players. Your 25 man roster has to score under 50 with each player rating Perfect 5, Diamond 3 and Gold 1, Silver and Bronze 0. A lot of Ozzie Smiths in this league.

But if you can have a cap of average price it would be better. There are a lot of Diamond players like Ruth selling for a lot more than Trout perfects.

Yeah, I have two teams in it. But my teams are worth 1/2 or less than just about every team in it by this standard.

or someone just pulled him in a pack and wanted to move him fast (and didn't pay attention to the last 5 price - 22000)... they would have done better for themselves just quick-selling the card for 4K, rather than take the 10% hit on the auction; but I'll take it...

worst case he doesn't perform and I try to move him for the last 5 price and shop for someone else with the proceeds

he might end up being one of those frustrating hot/cold pitchers (2 games so far; first game he only went 4.1 innings, gave up 4 runs with 8 walks and only 3 Ks.... second game he went 8 innings with 1 hit, 3 walks, 9 Ks... )

I've been playing PT for maybe 2 weeks, maybe 3. I'm in bronze .302. There's no way I've ever had even close to 5k

I have two gold teams. My7yr Las Vegas Outlaws are worth 64,061. Top player Randy Johnson 25,001, lowest Mark Belanger 40. They finished 88-74 taking top wildcard. I have Randy going in WC game. My 13yr Vegas Vulcans are worth 185,669. Top player Van Mungo 40,000. Lowest Andrelton Simmons 925. They finished 106-56 top record in league. Both teams built by card flipping. No cash spent.

Many users (not all) buy PP to make it to perfect. There were many discussions about lack of competitive balance because of this.

The Midwestern State Mustangs are a No Money team that uses the Auction House exclusively (ie no packs). We are back in Perfect again, having spent the last 2 in Diamond after a particularly ugly 4 season run at the Perfect Level. This team is worth a total of 160,985 points at this moment (which, since I'm a couple days late to this party, might mean that this total might be slightly deflated). The highest valued players are all starting pitchers, such as Dallas Keuchel, Bob Gibson, and Cy Blanton.

Going through this exercise made me realize just how many deals I've gotten through patience in the AH. While this team is valued currently at 160,985, only 124,347 points were spent in their acquisition. Below is a full list of my active team (so, not counting reserves, who are mostly cheaper bronze and silver anyways), their respective values, and the points spent on them.

C Tony Pena (76) - 4300 (4000)
C Mike Scioscia (75) - 2800 (2750)
SS Corey Seager (89) - 2677 (Starter Pack)

LF Moises Alou (82) - 1349 (1493)
LF Lance Berkman (91) - 10500 (7999)
LF Ed Delahanty (92) - 14000 (13500)
CF Paul Blair (86) - 8001 (5001)
CF Vada Pinson (81) - 1655 (1800)

RP Robert Stock (79) - 349 (Starter Pack)

Made a few changes, and suffered some depreciation…

I really need to pull a historical diamond one of these days.

My best team is worth 99,653

25% of that total is perfect Trout

They are currently leading their division in Diamond. In their 7 1/2 seasons they have an overall record of 729-485.
