Pitchers starting on short rest

For whatever reason, my team keeps starting a) first James Paxton and now b) Patrick Corbin on short rest. Usually a day or two after a full start.

One way I have been working around it is to manually set to bench for 4 days after they've appeared. However, unless I'm actively watching, I'll get one of these short rest/bullpen days every week. Most of the time resulting in a loss. Often resulting in the short rested starter getting shelled for a couple runs over a couple innings. And then it messes up the rest of the rotation, while straining the bull pen.

I noticed it all started after I had experimented with a very short pitch count of 70 pitches and an expanded bullpen (one extra converted starter into a long man/emergency SP).

This 70 pitch setup didn't last long, before I continued experimenting, before settling on 90 pitches. However, I still get this short rested appearance every few turns.

Any ideas of things I can trouble shoot? Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT: BTW, it switched to Corbin after I reordered some stuff into the 7-day rosters tab. At that time I had noticed Paxton was penciled into the 7-day lineups. two days after his actual start. Maybe the issue is somewhere in the 7-day?

Yes if you are using the 7-day lineup that does overrule your pitching rotation and depth chart settings...so you will want to monitor your 7-day lineup if you plan to use it.

What I'm trying to say is the 7-day lineups are automatically inserting one of the two pitchers in question into the run. And it's doing so in the day or two following a full, regularly scheduled, start.

I'm report back after a couple turns in the order since clearing and turning off the 7 day line ups.

Perfect let me know if that helps alleviate the problems. It is known to the devs that the AI's use of bullpens and depth charts is a little wonky. So they are attempting to do fixes while also prepare for OOTP 20's release.

Okay, seems to be rolling fine here with the 7-day cleared and turned off. It's unfortunate as I was trying to use the 7-day to ensure I get my starting line-up into the game more regularly. It seems the AI starts the bench more often than the instructions in the depth chart.

But on the pitching rotation issue, I believe that's solved.

Fatigue is cranked up in PT, so players will tire quicker than in the core OOTP game. Because of this, your every X game instructions may get overridden to rest your tiring starters.

I guess I better start saving for a better bench!
