Drafting European players - not interested?
Hello!
I have a question on the Entry Draft. After simming about 5 years as the Flyers to see how things play out, it looks like a lot of my draft picks are not interested in talking to a North American team. These are guys who I've chosen in the 1st or 2nd round. Is this supposed to be common, and is there a way to kinda check ahead of time whether I might not be able to sign the guy for a few years (if ever?) Also, unrelated questions - is there a way to compare teams in my league in terms of farm system strength, or power rankings like there is in OOTP? Finally, is there a way to compare players side-by-side? Thanks! Last edited by pratolano; 10-25-2017 at 06:48 PM. |

If you check the junior preference (bottom of the personal details section) for potential draftees, the ones interested in playing major junior or college hockey will be less likely to be reluctant to go to North America. Loyalty is another attribute to check - if it's high, they'll be more likely to stay where they are. And in general, if their potential is high enough, the NHL's ability to outspend the European teams will eventually win out, unless the player's in the KHL, which doesn't have a transfer agreement with the NHL.
Nothing like the farm system strength report in FHM yet. I did write up a plan for something like that while we were drawing up FHM4, but it wound up not making the cut. So likely at some point in the future. Player comparisons will likely be coming in an FHM4 update if we can work out a few things. |
