Historical Expansion

I'm close to 1961 - how do I add teams? What about the stadiums?

Thanks in advance.

Game Setup > League Setup > 'Other Functions' (bottom right) > Edit League Structure

Should be fairly self-explanatory. New team will get random name, which you then edit.

A new team will get a default ballpark, which you can edit either from the 'Other Functions' button again, or the Team Home Page > Options and Ballparks.

Should've been able to find that myself.

Thanks Redmark.

Make sure you generate a schedule after you add the teams to take into account the addtions.

Also, pay attention to your financials on the added teams. For me, they didn't generate any media contracts, or merchandising revenue, and the media contract years couldn't be changed since they started as a negative number.

How are people handling player movement for expansion at the moment? In OOTP 6.5, when an expansion year came up, I used the actual expansion draft results that happened in real life. So after I created the new teams, I exported the OOTP rosters into a CSV file, moved the players who were drafted by the expansion teams onto their new teams, and re-imported the rosters. Afterwards, everybody was in each team's minor league system, but re-running the AI manager on computer teams fixed that.

I'm wondering if it's possible to do something similar with the new version. I checked the documentation and it looks like it's still part of the game - I'm just wondering how the game handles the newly imported rosters and if there are any caveats afterwards.

On the player card go to edit. About half way down on the left there's a field that allows you to pick a league. Pick the league you want the player to go to. Then in the next area down you can choose the team. And there you go. Simple as that... as long as I made sense.
