In the National Association the only change to the division winners comes in the West, with San Antonio dethroning the Seals. So the Dodgers, Cardinals & Mustangs will be division winners with the Gators again being the NA Wildcard.

The start of the 2002 season is here. It's time for revenge. We need to show Orlando & Vegas that we will be the top dog in the AA. We have the team to do it this season.

None of our top prospects made the OD roster. Campbell, O'Day & Gibson will be up at some point this season but not to start the season.The starting offense remains unchanged. the bench for now has 2 new players on it in SS Keith Bostic & RF/DH Nate Mills. 1 or both could go down once Mason & Vlasblom come off of the DL. Vlasblom will go on a rehab assignment. So for now the rotation & pen are different as well. Brett Minarcin will start off as our 5th starter until Vlasblom's return.I would like to carry 12 pitchers.

Nate Mills surprised me enough that he had to make the OD roster over Kelly Gibson & DeWitt Johnston. He hit .340 this spring. He is more of a Rf but can play LF & 1B as well.
For now the rotation will be: myself, Hollingsworth, Lawrence, Abate & Minarcin. Once Vlasblom comes back, most likely Minarcin will go back to the pen but I am concerned about Lawrences stamina.
When Mason returns, either Bostic or Mills will go down to AAA or get traded or DFA'd.

The Lakers without Cecil Lehman will not be a great team, although Carson Sullivan will be at some point. He was traded to them by us in the Toby Anderson deal. I wonder how much he will pitch for them, many scouts think he is a long way from being a decent P. I don't expect the Lakers to be a competitive team this season. Maybe 72 wins.

The Dodgers are the favorite to win the pennant in the National Association.They have an excellent rotation and a solid offense. Josh Little would win the NA MVP award if it wasn't for Denver's Chad Smith.If they stay healthy all season, I don't see anyone beating them.

Not a good week for us. Offensively we look really flat. Pen blew 2 games.Not having Mason & Vlasblom is hurting us. We have a tough 3 game series vs AA Central leading Milwaukee coming up

The Brewers, to me, look about the same as last year. They will be tough but I believe we are better than them overall. MGR Gustavo Lopez comes over from San Antonio. We'll see how he does.
