Online League Trades and Signings
I moved this from the Online Leagues section since no one responded.
It is still a bit unclear to me how trades and signings work. If you are making a trade with another human-controlled team, then that makes sense. Both teams agree and the commissioner can force it through. What about if the team you're trying to trade with is computer-controlled? How do you know if they want to make the trade or not? If I download the game files and try to make a trade, will it break the game when sending it back? As for free agent signings, how does that work? Same idea - if I download the game files and try to sign a player, is that going to break the game. Can multiple teams try to sign that player and then he will decide when the game is eventually simmed by the commissioner? How else would you determine who gets the player if multiple teams try to sign him? Basically, is the "offline" trades and signings (made by the commissioner) for human to human trades only or is it for everything? I hope this all makes sense. Just trying to figure it all out before I get into an actual game. |

Replying here because I'm interested in learning if users are going to be able to trade with the CPU in online leagues this edition. In FHM2, they were unable.
Otherwise, at least in free agency, if multiple teams try to sign a player, the player will choose upon the game being simmed without anything breaking, as you intuited. |

Free agents work pretty much as you described, the player considers any open offers, whether from humans or AI, just as he would in a single-player game, and eventually makes a decision.
Trades always have to be handled by the commissioner. But it looks like, while the trading option is disabled correctly on the team menu, it's still available via right-click on individual players, we'll have to remove that. It's not actually doing anything, though - any offers you make to an AI-run team won't get a response and offers to a human team won't show up in their inbox. You won't break the game, it'll just be as if they were never made. |
