.DAT Files

Somehow my files are not opening up with the correct program. What does the OOTP .DAT file's default program need to be?

I get an error message:

"Error moving league file to the 'auto save' folder! The auto save function could not move one or more .dat files to the save folder. please delete the files in the auto save folder manually to fix the problem."

I have tried this and the game would not reload.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.... after the reinstall it works great, until I download the new league file, then I start getting this message again. Also, after I upload to ftp, save the game and close it, the next time I try to open the game, it reverts back to the previous league file, not saving the changes.

The only program that can open the .dat files is OOTP itself.

What directory are you saving the league file to? It sounds like your system might not have write permissions wherever it's being saved to.
