Okay roster and draft threads updated with our new team the Chilidogs. I will just be commissioner, which I prefer.

Here is the schedule, again a reminder the 5 bouts will be picked by the auto scheduler at random. When reporting results I will do a "highlight" bout, featuring the best match up from each match and report on that, with the other 4 being just the results. Have one re-pick needed for the 8th round and we will be set.

that sucks for Deland their 2 Big Guns (Dempsey & Schmeling) sit out this round. But that is what makes this league so interesting, you do not know which of your fighters will be on the card

Lee, one suggestion when posting the match-ups, maybe include each figthers "OR #" so at 1 quick glance we can get a better picture of these actual fights --- almost like a pre-fight odds

Week 1
Deland vs TulsaFeature Bout
Tim Witherspoon 0-0-0 VS James 'Bonecrusher' Smith
Smith was the man that entered the bout with the fearsome power, but it was 'Terrible' Tim that brought the pain during the bout as he shook Smith early, survived 'Bonecrushers' best in return and finally dropped him in the 5th, setting the tone from that point on. Using superior boxing skills and putting his punches together effectively, Witherspoon formed an insurmountable lead and puncuated his performance putting Smith on the deck again in the 8th and 10th as an exhausted Smith threw desperation shots that left him exposed. Witherspoon outlanded Smith an average of 34 punches to 12 per round, while conneting on an impressive 49.8% of his shots as they take it to the final bell

Second match of week 1 and look at the potential classic we have in our 3rd match!

Week 1
Philadelphia vs ChillidogsFeature Bout
Sam McVey vs Peter Jackson
The crowd was electric as the combatants entered the ring for our feature bout, but the electricity turned to shouts for action after a very slow opening round in which Jackson did only slightly more than McVey. The pace picked up with some solid exchanges over the next three rounds with Jackson usually usually coming out the better, though Sam was able to land some signficant shots as well. After 5 rounds, most agreed that Peter had a comfortable lead, with a couple of rounds too close to call. The 6th and 7th saw more heavy leather exchanged, though Jackson always seemed to get the last blow. The final three frames were all Jackson, with a 10th round knockdown providing the final exclamation point for Peter

Ooh, this should be coming down to a battle of first round picks. Have to guess Louis/Tunney decides the overall winner.

Week 1
Muckboys vs Harlem 8Feature Bout
Gene Tunney vs Joe Louis
As expected this match came down to the final bout of the evening between each teams best. The first 3 rounds are very close, with the Brown Bomber taking the early portions of the round with heavy shots, while Tunney rallies and closes the rounds stronger as he parries Louis' blow and lands effective counters. The 4th and 5th frames are decidedly Louis' as he finds a home for his potent right, which raises swelling on Tunneys left eye. After an even 6th, Tunney shocks the crowd by dropping Louis in the 7th with a left hook as the round winds down. After a slow 8th, they trade thunderous blows in a dead even 9th, before Louis takes the 10th in fairly convincing fashion and we go to the cards, as the crowd roars it's approval
Tunney Draw 10 Louis 96-95, 95-96, 96-96 (Louis won the 10th to salvage the draw)

Early contender for match of the year as these teams went back and forth, if only Byrd had a knockout punch. The feature fight was as advertised and provided several close, exciting rounds.

Solemn is behind the 8 ball here as both of their big guns (Klitschko and Tyson) will watch from the bench, and the Foreman/Fulton feature bout is only exciting if your name is not Fred Fulton
