Laseron was my favorite place to be. I had three teams in the LBA, but my long run at Summerwind was most memorable to me. Bondie, Harry Gelton, Zaq Packard -- even Mange -- they're all real people to me.
I still have many of the stories I wrote for the league on my hard drive; it's nice to be able to go back and relive some of the old memories once in a while. Many thanks to Goody and everyone else in Laseron for one of the best experiences of my life.

I'll probably be in touch with you soon on that. Have some long tedious tasks ahead and I'll set up a method for multiple people to work on them if possible.

WOW LOUIE! Bravo!
This was the type of stuff that made the league so great. Goody brought a world and it's players to life and our amazing group of GM's ran with his creation and made it even deeper, interesting and fun! This was awesome!: "Actually, I was astonished when Summerwind drafted me. I still can't figure out when they ever saw me play the game. But somehow, they decided I was the 785th-best player out there." -- Harry Gelton This is why we need to get the LBA, or something like it, going again... |

That was great, Louie.
If this thing gets started again, I'd be very interested in being a part of it. (Dibs on Sarinelos.)

I was never part of the LBA, just a lurker on the boards and site.....but my opinion is that you guys had the best league and it was the most fun to read about.
Kudos to all of you!!!!! |

I will second this, and add my hope that those who were in the original league, and who are again in touch with each other via this thread, will be able to generate a new league like the old one. I would be there.

Sorry for the delay. All of a sudden, a lot of things needed to be done yesterday. Anyway, the Laseron files are on my laptop, which is on the fritz and i'm getting it worked on. i thought i had backed them up on an extra hard drive (since that's what it's for) but i ingeniously decided not to do this.
So it will be a while before i can get them. i'll update when i get my laptop back. |

Hey Guys,
Can't believe this thread is here. Was one of the original owners but had a couple of kids, moved a couple of times and had to drop...reentered right before it went bust. I haven't even really played OOTP in a long time (probably something I need to rectify). The versions changed several times and I never really caught up. Another thing I thought was great about the league, even though it was tedious, was the initial drafting. I spent WAY too many hours poring over player attributes. The owners were great too...some competitive, but good-natured rivalries. Larry Rice |

Alright, I have an update.
I've been slowly ramping up toward seriously getting involved with starting Laseron again. 1. I can't find my old map files. I am going to use software to enhance the maps and make them much more complete. This will need to be one of the first steps so that I can put Laseron into the game in place of the default countries. I had already started this back in the day but I think those files might be lost forever. So that brings the question...start a new world from scratch, or try to recreate Laseron as closely as possible? I'm not sure if I want to do a continuation (though the "after the war" idea is very good). We've lost the website that held all the information from the first Laseron...but there's a lot of info out there here and there on people's computers. But do I really want to contend with that or just wipe the slate clean and start fresh? I'm pretty sure we lost all the old stories on the message board. If we did start fresh, would we want to start Laseron over new (forget whatever happened before) or just start new with new city names etc and an entirely new history? We would lose the name recognition...unless we just kept the name "Laseron" and changed everything else. 2. If anyone wants to help (J?) what can be done now is collecting Laserian names from the past files and whatever else we can find. Just put them in a big list capitalized and I'll add them to my file here. I don't want to just use the old files because they were a bit messy. But it would make it easier if I could just cut and paste the ones I want to transfer over. Anyone who was into the league knows what the "Laserian" style names were. I will work on the name files at the same time as I'm getting the world in order. I plan to have at least 2 new countries that have their own language style so the players will have their own unique "foreign" sounding names if they are from out of country. I have already started on these. But I'll need help with the main Laserian name list. 3. Uh...let me post this so far...
