10-5 Rights - Non-Consecutive Years

So, the A's tried trading Rickey Henderson after the 1995 season in our online league but the game said he exercised his 10-5 rights. However, part of the 1993 season he was with Toronto. He did "technically" spend the past five seasons with the same team but they werent full seasons. I cant find anything online that specifically addressed this. Is this correct or something that OOTP just cannot handle properly?

best bet is to google the CBA of that time period and read the realted sections to the 10/5 rule.

search by year it was signed once you figure that out with a different search

even those that are familiar with the rules, likely don't know by rote any changes over time, if any. each CBA is at least a little different.

the mlb doesn't give enough details on their main site, and current cba may not be right for your year.

grammatically speaking... 5 consecutive years means uninterrupted, imo. but, maybe the verbages says to start 5 consecutive seasons etc etc... really depends on the contract language and not some summarized definition given by mlb.com.

From the 1990-93 CBA:

Article XIX (A)(1)

The contract of a Player with ten or more years of Major League Service, the last five of which have been with one Club, shall not be assignable to another Major League Club without the Player's written consent. No consent from a Player shall be considered effective until twenty-four hours from the Club's request to the Player for such consent.
