Random Debut Negotiations
Almost all of the players require roughly double their salary demands to sign contracts in my game. They all say they have issues with the roles assigned no matter what roles I give them. I don't know for sure, but it seems like the system is malfunctioning in some way.

Are you changing the roles at all when they say that, or just leaving the role as you have it and increasing the salary? You may need to change the offered role to something more suitable for them. Or does the higher salary request seem to be independent of what role you offer?

The higher salary requests happen in spite of my changing the roles. As an example; I tried signing player 'x' to a $2,000, 3 year deal with the exact roles he requested. Player 'x' rejects the offer and says it will take more money unless his role is changed to 'none'. I change the role to match his request but the response is the same.

I'm having trouble replicating this. Can you upload a save where it's happening? Uploading instructions here.

It happens in the same beta save I had sent previous (Anton-HistoricalDebutCrash). It's applicable to all unsigned draftees and some UFA's and it had been consistent for all of the 32 seasons I got out of that file.
