Week 3
Tulsa vs PhiladelphiaFeature Bout
Jerry Quarry VS Joe Frazier
Things were set up just as Philly boss G Sombrero wanted as Smokin' Joe is called upon to protect a 1 point lead. True to form, Frazier came out smoking and almost put Quarry early away after dropping him with a savage left hook with 1:12 left in the 1st. Quarry then surprised all in attendance, outboxing Frazier in the 2nd and 3rd and staggering him in the 5th.Frazier stormed back, pummeling Quarry over the next two round and as the bell rang ending the 7th, Jerry looked tired. Quarry went down in both the 8th and 9th rounds from well placed right hands and it was clear he needed a KO in the 10th to win. Sadly, Quarry had nothing left and Frazier closed strong, leaving Quarry with swelling on both eyes
Frazier UD 10 Quarry - 98-89, 98-89, 98-89

A battle of two winless teams see's Philly get off the snide and Tulsa just can't seem to get their top fighters drawn into favoarable match-ups. Frazier showed tremendous power in his debut for the Brawlers

Four pick 'em bouts in this match, with only the Tyson/Tate affair giving us a heavy favorite. Really too close to call as it could be even going into the main, or the match could be in the bag either way

Week 3 is complete and we have a tie for first - Rosters in post 2 have been updated.

Week 3
Harlem vs SolemnFeature Bout
Larry Holmes vs Vitali Klitschko
Unfortunately this one was wrapped up in favor of Solemn going into the final, but the fans were hoping for an exciting battle in the finale. Klitschko brought the crowd to life quickly, dropping Holmes for a quick 2 count in the 1st, Larry couldn't shake the fog and was battered in rounds 2 and 3 as well, walking back to his corner with a rapidly swelling left eye after the 3rd.In the 4th Holmes finally got it into gear, spearing Klitschko with the jab, while the 5th and 6th were both fairly even, with the latter featuring great toe to toe exchanges.Klitschko took the 7th and 9th in most opinionsm with the 8th too close to call, which left Holmes needing a KO to win, but it was Klitschko who sealed it, dumping Holmes at the bell
Klitschko UD 10 Holmes - 97-94, 98-91, 97-92

A surprisingly dominant performance by Vitali in the main and Harlems lone win was salvaged from the scrap heap as Douglas trailed going into the 10th, with Ramage running out of gas.

Flip a coin for the feature, but going with Klitschko / Frazier as it is the most intriguing as it will be interesting to see of Frazier can get inside on Klitschko. Only "lock" is LaStarza in this one

Week 4
Solemn vs PhiladelphiaFeature Bout
Vitali Klitschko vs Joe Frazier
Things did not play out as expected on the undercard and with Philly having this in the bag, Klitschko is only fighting for team pride. Frazier started strong, blasting Klitschko in the 1st with withering shots, but Vitali stunned Frazier in the 2nd with a long right. They traded bombs over the next 3 rounds, but Frazier was able to consistently get inside and get the better of the action as Klitschko began to slow down. Frazier had a big advantage in the 7th and 8th and Vitali was completely exhausted and sporting a large mouse under his right eye. The 9th round saw Klitschko flail away and miss badly, allowing Frazier to counter and though the Russian rallied in the 10th, the decision was a forego conclusion in favor of Joe

LaStarza cost his team the match with a senseless DQ for hitting below the belt and it seemed to sap the enthusiasm of Klitschko, who was bullied in the main. Early surprise of the year, Mike Schreck is 3-0!!

A decided advantage for Tulsa in this one, so with the outcome likely decided going into the final bout we go with the matchup of the most contradicting styles instead of the most competitive matchup

Week 4
Tulsa vs HarlemFeature Bout
Rocky Marciano vs Chris Byrd
The classic puncher vs boxer matchup will decide the match and the first two rounds show the strengths of both men as Marciano mauls Byrd in the opening stanza, before the latter bounces back to pepper the Rock with his jab, puffing his righr eye up in the 2nd. Byrd holds his own over the next 4 rounds, continuing to stick and move, with Marciano looking to pin him and work the body. In the 7th Rocky opens a cut over Byrd's left eye as they are engaged in some vicious in fighting. Byrd rallies, then takes an insane amount of punishment in the 9th, but manages to stay upright and both men are dog tired entering the final round, which is Byrd's first decisive round of the fight as we go the distance!

Dooley's upset of Krasniqi made in interesting, and the main event is a classic, though many are left wondering about the disparity in the scorecards, as Byrd may have revealed the key to beat Rocky.

The hoped for matchup of Dempsey and Tunney is not to be, but both teams have their 3 biggest guns drawn and Jack will have his hands full with Sonny Liston, which will be the feature!
