Real life vs. fictional rosters
I'm new to OOTP and I would like to get familiar with all the concepts before joining an online league.
So I started two games, one with real life rosters and one fictional. It seems to me however than they are pretty much different. In the fictional league, 79% of all batters have less than 10 batting (HR) power. On my team, only 4 batters are over 5. That's way below the real roster. Contact skills are considerably lower too. Ranges for both IF and OF players are higher (39% are over 15, compared to 15% and 25% in the real life roster).
My team is doing generally well at 11-8. But it is ranked in the top 2 in almost all pitching&defense stats and bottom 3 in all batting stats (.229 avg, 51 runs, 5 HR after 19 games). Games are very low scoring, in my last series, I lost two consecutive 1-0 games.
And it's not the my batting roster would be weak. I play all games in play-by-play mode so it seems that simulated games have different level of offensive production.
Is that normal? And how do standard online league rosters look like? More like the default real life roster or below/above? All comments are appreciated.
