New League: NL Greatest Teams (1950-1994)

I have been a huge fan of OOTP since v5, and I just downloaded v15 last night after getting a new computer. I've decided to do something different: a league with the best team for each franchise from 1950-1994. I really wanted to avoid the steriod area. I also wanted to get a good mix of decades. So, these are not necessarily the very best teams for each franchise in that period - but they're all very good except for one (I'll explain later). Here are the teams in the league, which I plan to start tonight:

1986 New York Mets
1963 Los Angeles Dodgers
1954 New York Giants
1975 Cincinnati Reds
1994 Montreal Expos
1967 St. Louis Cardinals
1980 Philadelphia Phillies
1971 Pittsburgh Pirates
1986 Houston Astros
1984 San Diego Padres
1969 Chicago Cubs
1983 Atlanta Braves *

* I chose the '83 Braves since I've been a huge Dale Murphy fan since 1983, and it will be interesting to see what Bob Horner can do if he's healthy for an entire season. Instead, I would have likely chosen the '93 Braves.

I have injuries set to very low. No player development. 1980 settings. No playoffs. Ony major leagues and AAA. Just 162 games of good baseball. Should be interesting to see which team comes out on top.

I will be managing the 83 Braves at all levels. However, I will only be playing out (pitch by pitch) the first game of each series - and then sim the rest until the next series. Otherwise, this would take way too long and my wife would go nuts! I don't expect my 83 Braves to do very well - they're quite easily the weakest team of the bunch, but it's still a good roster and should be fun.

If anyone wants me to post updates throughout the season, please reply and let me know. Otherwise there's no sense in writing much if I'm going to be the only person reading it!

Let the games begin! My first series starts April 9 against the 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates - led by the greats of Roberto Clemente and Willie Stargell.
