Quick question for the Facegen makers out there, is anyone doing new facegens for the players who were just taken in the amateur draft last week?? I'm just curious is all, I know a lot of them are already in the database (at least the bigger named ones) but I wanted to know if anyone is doing some of the players taken in the middle rounds?? Thanks in advance!! :-)

It's not that hard, I'll give you some instructions in case you'd like to try it out.

If you want to give it a shot, go to this link and download the modeller.

Once you get it installed and open it you'll see a bunch of tabs on the top of the screen. Go to the PhotoFit tab on the far right. Go through the prompts there to load your image. Only the frontal image is needed.

The image of a player you find should be as big as possible, and a pretty straight on mugshot, preferably with no smile. Overall, the pic quality used is most important. Get the highest res pic you can find, the faces will look much better if you do.

Follow the instructions on screen as to where to place the + signs. Then let the generator work.

After it's created the face, you'll need to apply some finishing touches as follows:

You can thin the lips in the shape > mouth section, which will usually get rid of the teeth part of the lips if you've used a toothy pic.

If you used a really hq image, then adjust the detail setting all the way to the right.

Using the step 2 sliders on the Generate screen is a needed finishing touch if a lower quality face is used.

Adjusting the caricature shape/color sliders into the typical or attractive range results in much better looking faces. That's a step that should be used on all but the highest quality faces.

It's also a good idea to adjust the age sliders into the same range that the player actually is.

Sometimes adjusting the race and gender sliders as well can also help make a bad face look better

Oh, wow! Those look absolutely fantastic! You nailed it.

btw, you can just attach the files to your post and have OOTP host them for you if you prefer, so long as they're less than 400 kb or so, which any individual facegen file should be.

Excellent work. Hope you continue with some more Jays.
If you're doing a bunch from the same team I find it helpful to generate a team picture, it will let you know which guys need more tweaking.
Different lighting can throw skin colours all over the place in the facegens, the team pic will help with those.

Ok, did 6 more today. This is kinda fun. Any advice or criticism is welcome, i'm still very new at this.

John Olerud, Kelly Gruber, Pat Borders, Todd Stottlemyre, Joe Carter, and Ted Williams

The 5 Blue Jays all needed an upgrade i think. The Joe Carter in game is bad, and i really like this john Olerud. Ted Williams was one i just wanted an older looking Ted. The one i got from this thread is great.

Love the Milligan and Clark, Like the Molitor. Viola and Ryan were not easy. Hard to get them to look anything like those 2, but I'm satisfied enough with these to use them

So all the major leaguers are done and it looks like Chris G and others have taken up the minor league challenge so I have decided to take on some historical facegens which could use an upgrade.
