Flaws when playing out a game
I am one of those folks who is especially interested in details of what happens when a game is played out. There are some features of FHM4 that appear to have either disappeared in FHM5 or that have not been fixed in FHM5. There are also one or two odd bugs. Here is what I have noticed so far.
The time stamp for events, such as penalties and goals continues to be out of sync with respect to the game clock. The first screen shot below shows an example of this for a penalty that was called. The time clock indicates that 7:01 had elapsed, but the time stamp in the event list says 6:59. This happens for goals as well, as the second screen shot shows. Also notice that the goal announcement in the second screen shot does not indicate how many goals the goal scorer has scored so far this season. FHM4 provided that information, but this useful feature has disappeared in FHM5. I noticed an instance in which a goal was scored by one team (TOR) but was credited in the announcement box to the other team (MTL), as shown in the third screen shot below. It appears that this bug affected only the announcement box -- everything else updated as per the goal details listed in the event list. There seems to be a flaw in classifying goals as power play (PP) goals. In the fourth screen shot below, the second goal by TOR was scored at 13:19 and it was classified as a PP goal. But no one would have been in the penalty box at that time. There was an earlier PP goal by TOR scored about half a minute earlier (12:42), and that goal would have ended the penalty. And in any case, the penalty would have expired (at 12:56) by the time that second goal was scored, even if the first goal had not been scored. Also, in the box score available after the game, the second goal continued to be listed as a PP goal and the power play summary at the bottom of the box score falsely stated that there were 2 PP goals for TOR. There is a offset error in the active box score where player stats are shown. The home team's data are horizontally offset far to the right, whereas the visitor team's data are properly positioned. This is shown in the fifth screen shot below. This difference in offset appears in the box score only when the game is active. When viewing the box score after the game has ended by accessing it from the league schedule, both teams have their data offset to the right. The box score available while still in the game, but before leaving the game, does not display the shots on goal summary and power play goals summary at the bottom of the page as (I believe) it used to in FHM4. Only after leaving the game and going to the game report available on the schedule page do those summaries appear at the bottom of the displayed box score. When a team has a penalty, if that team's players are listed in the box to the right, the list of players currently on the ice (which appears with a gray highlight at the top of the list of players) continues to contain five players although only four of them are on the ice. The playing time increments for only four of them, but confusingly a fifth player is included in the set. In general, it would be great if a feature from FHM3 (I believe) were brought back where we had the option to have players currently on the ice listed for BOTH teams simultaneously. |

We'll have a look at that and the other stuff, thanks. Some of them were seen during beta testing and appeared to be fixed, but apparently they're still happening some of the time. |
