Starting a historical career

Hey all. I'm still bumbling about on 16'. (I'll probably upgrade to 17' if there's an All Star Sale).

I fancy starting a historical career, beginning in 1969 with the Expos. Just wondered what the best settings are to have the following:

- League expands naturally, as it did with expansion and relocation (but I want the Expos to stay in Montreal and not move to Washington)
- Players to enter the draft in the correct year
- Best set up of minor leagues (ie which levels to have set up)

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Edit:
Apologies, I realise this has been posted in the 17' forum and not 16'

Until 2004 Preseason leave Automatically expand league on. start of 2004 Preseason turn it off. You will have to do any future expansions manually.
Using the default DB players come in the year they were ML rookies. Spritze HS DB has the players at 18
You will have to manually edit minor league levels manually but it is not hard.
I use this
Minor League Affiliations | Baseball-Reference.com
ThatSeventiesGuy has almost all minor league uniforms 1965 or so thru 1995 approx.
In 1969 you wont have enough players to fill up anything beyond AAA. After 10 years you may not have enough players to fill up beyond AA.
In OOTP 17 Minors works great.

Thanks for your advice. If I start with minimal minors, I assume I can add to them (Ie increase the number of leagues) as I progress through my game?

yes, you can also use Ghost Players to fill out the minors but you may get a career middle IF getting stuck at Single A.
